The only people who think that USAmerica is the best country in the world probably haven't traveled more than 250 miles away from where they were born.

All my life, I've been told employment is a two-way street, and it has to work for everyone.

By the time I had my first job, so by about age 10 (farm country; child labor laws do not apply); I knew that was utter horseshit.

If you really want to enrage an employer, talk to them about business as an equal. The last pay review I had, over 20 years ago, I showed the CFO of the 50-person company I worked for, that I had all by myself brought in 12% (one-eighth) of the company's revenue; and earned barely 1% of the payroll. I showed that my work alone as a line-item was bringing in nearly 5x what I was getting paid; and yes I was including the total cost of employment (the other half of Employment Tax, the full cost of all benefits, including equipment and utilities).

By the time I was done it was pretty obvious to everyone that either they would have to double my wage, or I'd quit and triple my income. They couldn't face doing the former so I did the latter.

Employment as generally practiced in America is very bad for everyone involved. It infantilizes and exploits workers, and it puts employers into a contrived and false role as an abusive parent.
