Okay, I’m getting to this late, but the Nac Mac Feegle reference could not go by unremarked upon. 🥰🥰

"Really limiting the Court’s power would probably require a constitutional amendment" No, the provision allowing Congress to do this is already in the Constitution, but hasn't been used before. But if the Court says "we do so have authority" it would put the lower courts in a tricky position.

This is Congressional Republicans' third chance, after the two impeachments, to free themselves from the rapist's yoke. They won't have to fear him anymore. But they will CHOOSE THE YOKE, they will CHOOSE FEAR. They WANT to bend the knee to his threats. MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE

They value power more than anything. They’ll let their Idiot God King Emperor rule as long as they get to grab a bit of power and influence at the same time.

We can’t really trust these people to do the right thing even by accident any more. The days of “in the end we all really want the same thing but might not agree on how it can be done” are a distant memory.

I wonder if they don't all have a case of "we can change him" after being confronted with all forms of gaslighting I can think of. How does Stockholm Syndrome work again?

That's what they seem to believe, I agree, but they are delusional if they think he will share even a crumb of power.

Yes.

Power corrupts. They are trying to hang onto power.

It is this that makes it important it serve in union leadership, town/ city government, school boards and the heads if social organizations like churches or country clubs. If the power doesn't move around, it corrupts. At every level.

It's remarkable how reluctant humans are to leave behind authoritarian forms of government. Democracy may be fragile at times, and it's always work to keep it viable, but authoritarianism and totalitarianism are simply BAD. Philosopher kings exist only in the pages of Plato's Republic; they could not function in the real world. What the SCOTUS did was a full-on assault against the republic's continued existence; worse yet, something north of 40% of the public seems to be downright eager to surrender their status as free citizens to a sociopathic felon with a ridiculous clown hairdo and a fake orange tan. He may well lose, but someone like him should be despised by everyone, not just 55-60% of us.

It absolutely baffles me how people look down and degrade anti-authoritarianism / anarchism and then in the same breath will say we are all equal but for some reason we need to give "Leaders" power.

Especially when a big part of his cheering section is supposedly devoted to the principle of "No king but King Jesus." Which itself goes flat against someone who said "My kingdom is not of this world," but when have they ever cared about that.

Ní Bóna Ná Coróin

Neither your collar nor crown

Shall I wear, my nose not brown,

Nor I some clown in your court,

In chains brought, a wolf to town.

By no oath bound to your King,

To my Gods alone I sing,

Grey shadow hiding from sight

To keep the rite from waning.

In red gold you dress these slaves,

What throne can forget Nine Waves?

In deep caves our flame I shield,

Never to yield to such knaves.

Collars serve to rein dogs in,

Quell their nerve with shades and sin.

Wild wolf’s kin such bangles scorn,

Free-born I stay, son of Fionn.

My brothers hunted, slain, skinned.

Yet still my cries ride the wind,

Numbers thinned, but still we wait,

For your hate, we have not sinned.

Now the lone hunters take heed,

Upon the Great Stag we feed,

Blood for mead. His death our life,

Ends this strife, stirs this dried seed.

The old packs come together,

Ties that fear cannot sever,

Endeavour in pride to stand

In the Wolf Land, forever

If your Republican are so desperate to have a king, we have one you can share.

He comes with universal healthcare, paid family leave, and a minimum of 28 days of paid vacation per year, along with many other benefits.

That's because they all have delusions of being Lords and Ladies rather than the ones who have to clean up the shit of their betters.

But that sounds like socialism. They want a king to beat up all the people they don't like and make the rich even richer.

Has anyone told them that some of us have both. At the same time.
