And voting police. Don't forget the voting police.

How long do you have to 'suffer' the 5:30 pm darkness? even on year-round standard time you have the longest days of sunshine. So what are you complaining about?

Having a hard time sympathizing with your suffering here.

People really don't remember that. little Marco was too young.

Not to late to lobby the House.

And I bet they'll be getting an earful since the Senate didn't give the citizens a chance to give feedback.

Yeah, I get it. Question though; why are there quotation marks around 'suffer?' Are you quoting someone?

EDIT: Also too, isn't Alaska the state with the longest days of sunshine? Like, the farther north you are, the longer the daylight hours in summer? I think the nearer to the equator, the less seasonal difference there is between day/night hours.

I went outside once, the graphics were amazing, but the physics engine sucked and there were too many n00bs wandering around

Instead of going on permanent DST, and setting the start of school an hour later, and then the start of everybody's work an hour later, we could go on permanent standard time and leave everything alone. This would actually be the same thing, except without mislabelling all the times so that 12 oclock is never actually noon or midnight, anywhere, ever.

Idiot Republican wingnuts abound much more, and interfere more directly so that avoiding them does not stop them messing with your life, in some places than in others. I would never enter Florida any more, and would not even feel safe driving across Texas.

I really don't like it

Those are semi-quotes...a paraphrase

Really, the day-to-day social experience is pretty much just kind of normal here where I'm at (the only place on the mainland of the continent where the west coast is in the eastern time zone.) I go about my life feeling more or less un-messed-with.

I do share your apprehension about driving through Tejas though.

Also, phun phact: as of 2/28/2022, the registered voter breakdown in Florida is as follows*:

R- 35.95%D- 35.32%NPA - 26.94%Minor Parties- 0.02%

I kind of think that the right-leaning NPAs are the reason we can't have nice things in Florida.

*numbers don't add up to 100% because of rounding.

That would be my second choice. Of more import (to my mind) though, is that we stop the insanity of switching back and forth every year. I'd willingly sacrifice an hour just to make that happen.

Well, you did say that the sunset at 5:30 was 'doggone depressing', so to me, that implied 'suffering'.

Glad to hear that you are generally 'unmessed with' in Florida.Ironically, I'm a 'left-leaning' NPA ;-)
