Jones allegedly called Trump a 'terrorist' and a 'nazi' in a voluntary interview with the Secret Service. She attended a march in Washington on Aug. 16 that went around the White House complex and was then arrested, though she said she had no desire at that time to harm Trump. Friends wrote in letters to the court that Jones has had mental health issues."
I have an olive branch. It's about two feet long and 3 inches in diameter. It is my shillelagh. One end is wrapped in barbed wire. I keep it in my bedroom, near the bed. We can hope, but the Home Rule Act does give the president the authority to temporarily take over law enforcement in the District.
I'll grant that sending in the National Guard might be more questionable, but there's still more of a legal basis.
