Carville is a dinosaur. He’s irrelevant and tiresome.

Remember how Bill Clinton took a break from the campaign trail to go back home to Arkansas and preside over the execution of an inmate with intellectual disabilities? I’m guessing that was Carville’s idea.

I’d just as soon not win if the only way to win is to become the other side.

Robyn failed to highlight Carville's key point, and the real reason why he's a business-ss,-usual donor class wanker:

Yasee, AFTER we've let Republicans flail around on the budget all by themselves, with nary even a comment on our part (not a bad idea, that would deprive Republicans the opportunity to unite against some perceived Democratic offense when they would otherwise bicker amongst themselves), Carville then says:

"Just when they’ve pushed themselves to the brink and it appears they could collapse the global economy, come in and save the day."

Yeah, save their asses. Again. Pass their budget for them. Again. No doubt we'll get a few meager scraps in return for shielding Republicans from the consequences of their weaponiized incompetence. Not to mention pissing off our own base, who expect Democrats to NOT BE COMPLICIT, for once.

NO. While I'm sure it would keep the gravy train going for professional political parasites like Carville (and all those hundreds of "consultants" who sucked up all our good-faith donations to Harris last year), I somehow think that this moment demands that the party serve the long-term best interests of its constituency this time rather than those of our establishment bloodsuckers.

"The long-time Democratic habit of retreating and conceding loss whenever the Right targets something or someone has never resulted in a single thank you card, at the ballot box or anywhere else."

It has, however, resulted in a decades-long successful career for James Carville as a "well-respected pundit." He will never lack corporate sponsors. Like the elected Democrats who still listen to him, he is a CAREERIST. His ideology is careerism. The point is to make a success of his OWN career.

If anybody else is interested in keeping THEIR job, too, that's THEIR problem, not Carville's.

Jeez, Robin, give Carville a break. He's wrong in general, but more than one intelligent person has said that cleaning up GOP messes is something Democrats have been doing for years, yet it certainly didn't help them in the elections. It will take a catastrophic mistake to budge the assholes out, and it won't be at the polls. With all the mistakes and dumbfuckery being committed by Trump and Musk, it's a matter not of "if," but when.

If he's so opposed to cleaning up Republican messes for them, then why does his prescription end with us swooping in and passing their budget for them? Save the day, my ass. Parasites like Carville make a career out of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, it's how they guarantee their continued employment.

As soon as Carville whined about how the Democratic party was too associated with and influenced by women, I was done with him. I'd been mostly done with him previously, but that was the limit

Carville was kind of a piece of shit even back in his 1992 heyday. It's worth noting that Clinton kicked him to the curb not long after he was inagurated. Bill knew what he was dealing with. Carville brought discipline to the Clinton campaign, but that was the entire extent of his usefulness.

>>> Yeah, so: The main reason people are going along with the DOGE shit is because they believe that the country is going to use the “savings”...

Categorically false. The people that are going along with the DOGE shit would pay anything to hurt liberals. ANYTHING. They will cut off their upper halves to spite their faces.

Carvilleʻs analysis, as does this one, fails to recognize the fundamental truth of the moment: more than 50 percent of the American population wants to see America, in its present form, dismantled completely. People are not taking to the street because there is not a consensus on "end of America = bad."

I would note that the people in this category do not exist solely on the right wing; just as Trumpʻs voters did not come exclusively from the right wing. College campuses are quiet for a reason, and it isnʻt fear.

Trump was reelected because of young white men, not necessarily college students.

And Americans are disinclined, at least at this moment, to protest. They're scared shitless that they'll lose their jobs. When Trump starts killing people, which he will, that will be the sea change that will start everything. That's what started the Arab Spring.

“Simply step away and let ’em flirt with a default. Just when they’ve pushed themselves to the brink and it appears they could collapse the global economy, come in and save the day. Be the competent party and not the chaos party.” “Save the day” is doing a lot of work here. Do precisely what? Something heroic I guess.

Look at all the stuff Joe Biden did for poor and middle class Americans. He saved the day during the pandemic. created 16 million jobs, and the Democrats got trounced by a fat fuck with a big lying mouth and a deadly agenda. Everybody should know by now that trickle down doesn't work, but they still believe feeding the rich doesn't starve the rest of us. That's a basic stupidity in America that just won't change.

I roll my eyes so hard when I hear Carville’s name, they almost pop out of my head. What a self satisfied nit wit. I never understood why people invited him on tv shows, he inevitably says something misogynistic or profoundly stupid, or both.

I have a much better idea for the Dem’s; Send an individual email to each and every American promising two things: 1). to give them back their Medicare, Medicare, SSI, SNAP, whatever they lose over the next few weeks and, 2) A second promise that assures the recipient that none of their friends, relatives, neighbors, or fellow citizens get one damn thing. THAT will win them the support of every self-centered asshole in these wonderful United of States - In other words, they’ll win every election. BIGLY!!
