“And that is what the perception is by the American left who hates Christendom.”

I don't hate Christendom. Jesus was probably a cool guy who told parables and jokes. Water into wine? I love this guy! (As long as it wasn't merlot ... i'm sick of merlot.)

But I hate the idea that Christianity has all the answers. That we haven't figured out a few things on our own in the past 2000 years. That God and Jeebus decide where the next tornado, disease, bullet will hit; sparing and condemning in a "mysterious way". That Xtians have special powers in America. That's what I hate.

I remember reading some years ago "The Crusader" by John Cleve - a remarkable combination of explicit sex and graphic violence.

Methinks today the one thing American politics really needs is more conversation about Christendom.

Surprised he is in favor of the Crusaders since they were often men on horses. I guess it is different than man on dog.
