My shock about these scandals and the abuses involved is how very, very long it takes to bring the criminals and the crimes they committed to everyone's attention, and to arrest and try them in a court of law. Meanwhile, they've made so many millions of dollars being exploitative assholes. May they be found guilty and may they be sued into oblivion by the victims. May their evil wealth be redistributed to the victims, and may they spend more than a decade in prison.
The Manhattan A&F flagship, in 2015 (maybe they still do or maybe they don't), had a velvet rope line outside and people waiting behind it to be let in a few at a time, like it was some kind of Studio 54 exclusive disco. It was the absolute douchiest thing I have ever seen.
The chain was parodied in the Canadian cartoon series 6teen as Albatross and Finch, including the stores having shirtless "Greeter Gods" and tube top wearing "Greeter Goddesses." Besides being pretty their primary characteristic is being snobbish and unhelpful to customers.
