Why would you call Carney, Canada’s “new unelected Prime Minister”?
Do you have no idea how the Westminster system works?
Are you completely unaware that Governments have switched leaders multiple times over the years without having to go to general election?
Or that the Leader of the Party that has formed government can change due to any number of reasons and that the party just elects a new leader who then BECOMES the Prime Minister?
Or that the Party who is Government is NOT actually required to call an election because they changed Leaders? Carney could have and was within legal parameters to not bother calling an election until the legal date on October.
There might be other improvements, but the US has been doing this technology for years. 20 years ago a marine I knew was operating this in the Florida Keys looking for drug boats in the Caribbean. Can you be more specific with the other aspects of why this radar is so good?
I noticed in The Guardian that there is some movement in Great Britain to respond positively to Trump's flip flop chaos about tariffs. Here is what I posted to them just a few minutes ago.
Dear Guardian:
As an American citizen, I implore you Britons to not give Donald Trump any leverage on anything. No appeasement. His policies are upending us here and are destroying lives. The support from abroad is critical to countering his destructive policies and to eventually removing him. Please stand firm on protecting yourselves and my own country from his predation. Remember Neville Chamberlain? Remember the damage he caused by letting Adolph Hitler believe he had a free rein? Let's not repeat that history with our president.
The UK screwed themselves over with Brexit. They need trading partners and tariffs would kill off more of their jobs and National revenue. They are between a rock and a hard place.
It will be interesting to watch how this position might be become crystal clear in the next few months... I sincerely hope most European countries understand what supporting Nazis will do.
We're looking at the "Powers" of the world switching in few months. This is terrifying for everyone and I'm still miffed more Americans do not realize what we have done to ourselves on a national stage
If contract employees get less than their contract provides, they have cause for action.
My own experience is far different, also, but that's a small sample. Searching the search engines, I see that generally, CISA employees generally 𝘮𝘢𝘹 at GS-13 pay. The average employee salary for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (DHS) in 2023 was $106,979.
When I was a contractor I made $16/hr to my federal counterparts $28-32/hr.
I know the company that employed me made Bank. Also as a contractor we basically were "cheaper" for OT than the federal workers. Also also, as a contractor you're working way harder to "prove" yourself for that future federal position
I was one of 4 union electricians at an airport that was torn down, and we were "sent back to the hall". We incorporated and sold our expertise back to the city as consultants. We paid ourselves according to the local IBEW contract as journeymen and banked the rest for distribution as shares.
When I retired from the union, I was called a few times for an opinion. I became a sole proprietorship and charge what the market will bear.
But, as I said, I'm a small sample.
Contractors lose work all the time. 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺, 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 were big arguments for government employment from letter carrier to air traffic control. Not so, even before His Malignant Lunatic took over.
They are looking for a legal way to fire them. The changes really do need to come from Congress, but Congress is too chicken to do it. They won't get reelected if they are the cause of people losing jobs.
Do not reelect any Republican and the several Democrats who have become DINOs. This is bad enough. It has to stop! Trump must be countered at every turn and removed from office before he gets us all unemployed, starve and/or killed.
Last night, two of the cats took up their position on my bed before I could occupy it. I have been limiting my good night cats to just Alice, because she does not wake me up at night. But since two of them were already in there, pretending to be asleep, I left the doors open, so all four could circulate in and out of the bedroom. There are alternate routes, hence multiple doors.
I woke up in the night to fulfill my responsibility of carrying water from one place to another, and I’m back in bed, and I am being greeted happily by serendipity, Gryffn, and Alice, who is happily snuggling me with an attitude of, “oh I didn’t know we did this at night.” Máebh is at the foot of the bed, and I am expecting her to dive in at any time now.
They were so good to let me sleep. I know if I am very fortunate I will go back there. Although I have a hunch it’s Zoomietime.
Before I woke up, I dreamt that I had been taking flying lessons with the intent of becoming a CFI and working at this little flying school that was teaching me to fly. And in the dream, the planes were easy to fly because of the configuration of the landing gear, but I was playing my cards close to my chest and not telling them that, because I wanted them to think that I could actually do this.
"In 2021, billionaire Richard Branson's SPAC took 23andMe public at a $3.5 billion valuation. AncestryDNA, which offers similar tests, was also bought by Blackstone Group that same year, despite slowing sales for both the genetic testing companies.
A five-month-long data breach in 2023 that exposed personal data of nearly 7 million customers, dealt a major blow to 23andMe's reputation. Late last year, it laid off 200 employees and stopped development of all therapies."
Fucking annoying, so sick of rich fucks buying something and ruining it.

But first, I want to poke around and see if I can find an inexpensive two credit CEU because of what the hell I may as well maintain my professional license and I’ve already got four CEUs and it’s easier to reapply while I’m under contract.
And the alarm clock doesn’t go off for another 4 1/2 hours so I should probably try to get some sleep also.

Almost as if "saving money" were not the actual goal!

Not just them. That list is THE list when it comes to all of Doge's firings and cutting funds. They run their AI based on those keywords and if they find em, ax the thing.
Hence why Enola Gay got yanked
It's not even actual AI, it's "Ctrl-F" searching. Or "grep" for the Unix greybeards.
mm. Just a wise idea for any fed wanting to keep their jobs to not include any of those keywords in their "5 things we did last week" things
Or include if you want a DOGE funded holiday.
