The #NeverTrump movement -- such as it was -- came to a noisy, angry end Monday afternoon, smothered in a blanket of parliamentary procedure before the prime-time HateFest got underway.
I am mentally picturing the "Stand By Me" pie eating contest scene, and smiling at the thought of that happening on the convention floor. If that makes me a bad person, so be it.
Here is the difference between the RNC rules fight and the Nevada Democratic Convention:
RNC requires a roll call vote when majority of 7 delegations turns in the petition. Womack just blatantly ignored the rule. Even if he had gone with the roll call it's a simple majority to change the rule
In the case of Nevada the rules call for a voice vote which, in the opinion of the chair, is 2/3 in favor of suspending the rules (the actual motion in Nevada). Nevada was pretty evenly split, thus not a 2/3 vote.
Gotta say that this whole "voice vote" thing is a lot simpler than the old fashioned "how many bubbles in this bar of soap" disenfranchisement trick. It sure must suck to be on the wrong side of that one, eh GOP?
Well, that could be fun...
...for about ten seconds...

Even I, a shambling, undead, brain-eating monster find that disgusting...
But...that's UNPOSSIBLE!!!11!!
I know... my withers remain unwrung for him.

Mike Lee is a Utah senator.
There's just something recurring in the human psyche where some people really want to hurt others but need the approval of a leader to do so.
