Doesn't have to be a police officer doing the shooting.

A Texas man with a gun tried to stop an assailant with a guns and got shot via Raw Story (the original Reuters headline is inaccurate)

... saw a female employee who had been shot in the leg near the store entrance, an Arlington police spokesman told reporters at the scene. The man went to his vehicle, retrieved his weapon and confronted the man who had shot the woman, Lieutenant Christopher Cook said.“The suspect was trying to leave in the car. That’s when the good Samaritan pointed his firearm, trying to get the car to stop,” Cook said. The suspect left his vehicle, shot the man in the head and fled the scene, police said. He later surrendered to police 60 miles from the scene of the shooting.

Warning! The comments have gun nuts saying that the dead man acted correctly and ascocial cowards saying that the deceased should have left the woman and gone home before reporting the crime. º_0

I forget where I heard it, but there was a story on the radio a month or so back about a guy recounting the fights he's gotten into. He mentions something about the clarity of your senses charging in, and the strange comfort you gain with the fact that you personally are going to die very soon.

Then again, it sure is easy to be a hypothetical gunslinger from the comfort of an overstuffed chair.

I am curious to see if Trump gets elected, (God forbid!), all these gun humping assholes will disappear back into the woodwork because the Feds are no longer evil because the scary, black, Muslim, Kenyan is no longer in the White House.
