The Sovereign Citizens in my area used to monitor police radio and show up at arrests heavily armed to, uh, monitor law enforcement officers. Which I guess is at least logically consistent ... I mean, if you think your guns are to protect civil liberties and all, it naturally follows. Of course, things eventually went pear-shaped, and the local leader is now doing 27 long, parole-free federal years for buying machine guns and grenades, intimidating law enforcement officers, and plotting to kill federal judges. And yes, even after he repeatedly told the judge that he didn't recognize the court's jurisdiction over him.
