OK, Editrix, ya got me dead to rights. Career (25 years) social worker here. None of it spent in CFS though. (Thank 'God'!) Also not the psychotherapist flavor of social worker that is so popular in my profession these days, but the old-fashioned, old-school help-to-empower-people-from-populations-that-were-historical-targets-of-discrimination flavor of social worker. (Yup, one of _those_ people.)

As for the world-class criminal negligence described in the article, all I can say is "SSSSSSHHHHHEEEEEEEETTTTTTTT!!!!!!!" And a profoundly sad two-handed facepalm. Let's just say that neither the wall behind my desk nor the bones in my hands are safe tonight. If you don't see any comments from me for awhile it will be because I am having difficulty typing.

To be fair, I'm sure none of the DCFS case workers ever saw any evidence of abuse. Because they did not look.

Either that, or the place has been infiltrated by Dobsonites who thought "excellent, a family that Dares to Discipline".
