I can't handle the truth today.

welp.

The House GOP selected a speaker who doesn't believe in democratically elected representatives; his nationalist christion fervor demands minority rule if it keeps others like him in power and everyone else under their rule.

oh my dawg--this is the guy who will force the 2024 presidential election/certification to the House if the GOP candidate loses the electoral college.

I am far too fucking old for all of this BS.

Ta, Evan. The less I say, the better.

Johnson was picked because the far right nutters know he will rankle Dems and make liberals upset. The “normal” GOP simply want this embarrassment to end, and Johnson at least looks like a serious politician. But I also think many of them believe their only prayer for 2024 is through the Bible beaters. It’s an odd strategy, as fewer and fewer Americans identify as religious at all, let alone Christians. But Johnson proves yet again that Republicans are not serious about governance. No person who believes the Earth is 6,000 years old, and that dinosaurs and people lived at the same time should be anywhere near Congress, let alone Speaker of the House.

I’m not sure how much of a “normal GOP” there is any more.

Johnson, Gaetz, Greene - they’re the normal ones now as the previous generation of “we’ll pretend to believe this shit as long as it keeps us in power” are fading away

So, Joshua Generation, is he?

Might I humbly add to the discourse here, what the everlasting, absolute fuck?

This fucking guy is fucked up, y’all.

DemoCat's avatar

The Founding Fathers would be horrified by Johnson and the modern GOP.

Shit is getting weird in Congress y’all. I’m actually glad they picked someone this insane, it will make voting easier next year. Religion isn’t popular with young voters, and has been dwindling for years. If the GOP wants to go full Jesus (never go full Jesus), go for it. Americans will not stand for government meddling in their bedrooms, or their marriages. Only really shitty, abusive and insecure men want to make it difficult for women to leave them. How disgusting and pathetic.

Whenever I hear one of these "Christians" talk about perverts, I always wonder what their sexual turn on is--everybody has a kink and I just would love to know what Mikey fantasizes about when he gets off

DemoCat's avatar

My guess is he fantasizes about having hot gay sex while his wife, dressed as a clown, watches and prays for his forgiveness. It’s just a theory tho.

That last photo has me ready to retch.

For fuck's sake, if you must pray, GO TO CHURCH.

Dudley Didwrong's avatar

Maybe that’s what is really happening in the photo—a Circle Retch. Republicans like such things, I guess. Unity, you know.

Maybe it was after the last cocaine orgy and they all saw Grassley naked🤮🤮

" Not to harp on it, but again, his wife couldn’t be here today because she’s nursing that old prayer injury. "

Well, Muslims put a rug under that knee to the ground.

In that bottom photo I thought for a moment they were all performing CPR. But no, nothing so useful.

I thought they were shooting craps....

Those men in the bottom photo in David Cay Johnston’s post are getting ready to blow out something.

The flame of liberty, perhaps?

"...that mass shootings are caused by teaching evolution. Really."

He also said that mass shootings are caused by abortion, because we devalue life so much with our love of abortion. I wonder how much the crime rates have dropped in Florida, AL, TX, and all the other states that have banned abortion?

So, Mike. Being a Christian is something you do, not who you are, right?
