Seriously, if you're not used to driving in snow or icy conditions, and your roadways aren't designed with those conditions in mind, driving can be super-dangerous. That right there leads to a logistical nightmare of every stripe.
On top of that, most buildings are not prepared for prolonged sub-freezing temperatures, so there will be lots of damage associated with that as well.
Nothing like a good South Dakota political scandal. Last one I remember is when the governor left his teenage son at home and the kid held a party at the Governor's mansion trashing the place. Good times.
Except she's the governor of SOUTH Dekota. Yeah, I know they're both boring and flat, but there's a difference (though I can't think of what it might be).
