It's good to know that there are freedom-loving men like Spokane City Councilman Mike Fagan. This weekend, Fagan, a proud anti-vaxxer who somehow got appointed to the Spokane Regional Board of Health, rallied like-minded paranoids to oppose Washington's proposal to repeal a provision in state law allowing parents to opt out of mandatory vaccinations for their kids on the basis of "personal belief." The legislation would leave in place exemptions for medical conditions and religious beliefs, but if parents don't have the chance to expose their children and the community to easily prevented communicable diseases, then the Sons of Liberty might just as well have not dumped all those crates of MMR vaccine into Boston Harbor in 1771.
I have an irrational fear of clowns. But the sheriff told me I was not allowed to shoot republicans. Or the deputy. So I shot him. I Shot him down. But not the deputy.
It was Jesus who said, "Suffer the little Children" which I guess means "Screw the little bastards, let them get infected". Not that you could really blame Jesus, he came from a pretty dysfunctional family.
I mean, first off he was conceived out-of wedlock and raised by a single mother and a step-dad. His birth-father had huge control issues and a famously bad temper making him really hard to communicate with. Let's just say his Dad was really distant. So of course, Jesus had issues growing up. He was a cute kid, but his teen years up to young adulthood were pretty much a blur and as a result he just kind of dropped out for a while.
He hits his thirties and comes back to town to take over the family business, but now he's kind of a hippie. Well, he starts to change around all of his Dad's work. He institutes a "turn the other cheek" policy instead of the old traditional eye-for-an-eye thing. He's into helping the poor instead of helping he who helps himself. You know, really radical stuff. Even worse, the guy never married and spent all of his time with 12 other guys. I'm not passing judgement here, I'm just saying his lifestyle was a little ... bohemian.
So how can you expect a guy like him to know anything about kids or relationships or family with the way he grew up. Maybe the conservatives are right. It all comes down to traditional family values.

I'm getting the feeling that he isn't so much anti-vaccine as he is pro-infection.
My problem is that people who don't vaccinate their kids are increasing the risk for my baby granddaughter, who is too young to be vaccinated and depends on herd immunity.
Laughed out loud!
I see. Can you recommend a good tooth filling?
I like cyanide. Quick, painless dentistry!
we all seek knowledge.
Wait, I think they may be over represented.
I dunno. He looks pretty good for a guy who's been dead for near a hunnert years.
Was whispering that *to* you, not about you.
You're comparing requiring kids to get vaccinated to sending people to concentration camps? Give me a break.
It could be a sincerely held irrational fear.
So in a round about way frozen dinners cause autism.

People in a vegetative state are also not well represented in politics. I mean, people with a medically diagnosed vegetative state.
Nah, the ill eagles will still be able to afford it with their food stamps and Obamaphones.
