Yeah, it's tempting to just write this monstrosity off to typically dismal Nova Scotian taste in backdrops, but Dan Fromkin straightens us out: "Bush, before his speech in Halifax, sitting next to a White-House designed backdrop featuring President Franklin D. Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill." Yes, ignore the Dantean implications of the color scheme, concentrate instead on how it looks like he's sitting with people who actually won a war. Not so much "Mission Accomplished" as "In Close Proximity to aMission Accomplished."
