Having been through this the *first* time around in the tech industry, I can say they don't get the fact that they are a commodity of which many more are being minted every minute.
These guys may be douches on a personal level, but I am not feeling the outrage about labor organizing some engineers who risk the insolvency of a start up company and work 70-100 hours a week in order to line the pockets of a billionaire Venture Capitalist.
Starting from their premise that only 1 in 5 startups will amount to anything, and that stock options are the only way to build retirement income, these bro's are taking a 4-in-5 bet that their pensions will be worthless. Do they realize what they are protesting?
