I have heard that the reason YouTube crashed everywhere (I think it was yesterday) was because Colbert's online interview came out, and the whole world watched it. I am pleased to think I helped when I posted it on Facebook and Bluesky. 😁
He will find a way to somehow be even better. I'm sure lots of companies are courting him. They'd be stupid not to. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it!
You telling me that Free Speech Absolutist Bari Weiss is working for a network that is censoring WHO its late night comedy host can interview?
SURELY she will be all over this! Quit in solidarity like she claims she quit the NYT! Surely a free speech absolutist like Bari will Stand Up for the free speeches!
Apropos of nothing, in that frame of the Colbert-Talarico interview, above, Mr Talarico looks strikingly like the young Dave Foley, of _The Kids in the Hall_. I admit, I miss that show still.
We’re pretty close to state-run TV. These are very sad times when Congress sees the Constitution being slowly burned and not defending it as their oath spells out.
I can’t completely understand how law makers can watch this shit go on, day after day and not demand that enough is enough. We are in full-blown authoritarian and autocratic rule.
I understand loyalty but we are beyond that…it’s one thing to be loyal however, when that loyalty supersedes our nation’s rule of law, then tyranny rules.
All the real journalists are leaving corporate media for Substack and podcasts. Pretty soon, CNN is just going to be Jake Tapper and Scott Jennings reminding everyone that Biden is old.
I love how that CBS "splaination" about their "worries" over the ( non-existent ) "equal time" rule made sure to mention the name of Jasmine Crockette when it talked about being fair to the other candidates. I would guess they thought their phony "equal time" rule applied only to potential candidates running in a primary, and not candidates from the other party looking to run for the same position.
Way to be transparently fuckheaded. They should have kept Jasmine Crockette's name out of their fucking "legalese".
It could be fun for late night TV to give "equal air time" to ppl they don't like, just to have the most aggressive, hostile, and confrontational interviews ever committed to the airwaves . Yep. Sure would be a shame if that happened

What does Matt Taibbi think about this?
Fuck Trump.
I am sure David Brooks is at this very moment composing a thinkpiece while enjoying a protein matcha and a prosciutto and arugula panini.
I wonder what Stephen will do after his show ends. He has a lot more to offer us if he feels like it.

Stephen unplugged! It will be glorious, but he'll have a tough act to follow if he wants to top what he's doing now.
The death of CBS is so sad. A once great network succumbing bit by bit.
Alicia Hastey can write a letter.
wait wait wait wait wait

oh...wait...
I just watched the interview, and Talerico will be good for Texas. I wish him well!
A Christian who really is one.
No shit! I thought they were extinct!!
Stephen Colbert says the network lawyers said, in no uncertain terms, that he couldn't air that interview.
The network lawyers say the only notified Colbert of the possible legal ramifications and offered to guide him through the possible responses.
Who to believe?
Narrator: The above question was rhetorical in nature.
It's a puzzle.
Way to Stephen!
Ta, Marcie. Brendan Carr needs to crash.

I'm crushing your head!

Are we ready for that?
They're not law makers. They're rubber stampers.
Cowering under their desks.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$&&
Those who think they win ? Hellno

Remember during the campaign when the major networks would show hours of an empty podium before Trump even spoke?
