Stephen Miller is the surly little nerd on the school bus that all the other kids laugh at & make fun of because they get a kick out of how riled up he gets. He's spent all of his life & energy getting in a position of power for the sole purpose of "making them all pay!" (shakes pasty little fist at imaginary foes)
Time for this reminder: Stephen Miller is not a lawyer! He did not go to law school. He went to rightwing bigot school, where he found lots of eager mentors. (And Duke. Not David Duke. Duke University. Larry Elder and David Horowitz got him in there.) But no law school!
It's no coincidence that Stephen Miller breaks the law whenever he breathes. He does not believe in the rule of law. He believes in the law of power. But then so does John Roberts, what with the Unitary Executive crap they all babble.
It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Depressing and degrading and nihilistic. But also interesting.
I just. Cannot. IMAGINE. The work environment at SCOTUS. I mean, how do you deal with your workday if your only role is to watch as six of your colleagues enable dismantling our democracy? While you presumably scream into the inky void that used to hold your belief in the integrity of the judiciary? The only thing worse than walking every day into a three to six Court would be NOT walking in, and having it suddenly be two to seven or zero to nine.
I guess there are many instances throughout history of soldiers being told, “Boys we’ve gotta hold this hill. We’re outnumbered and outgunned, and it’s a pretty good chance we’re all gonna die tomorrow. But this piece of ground matters, and if we can just hold on here for one more day then it will give our buddies time to resupply and regroup and push back. Nobody here is going to get a medal, and history probably won’t remember our names, but we gotta do it for them!”
I hope they at least feel that sense of purpose when they go to work every morning.
This ongoing capitulation of SCOTUS to the whole institutionalized "conservative" plunder of the Constitution brings to mind my complete dismay at public servants and their willingness to partake at corruption - it's not that they are corrupt but that it takes so little to corrupt them.
A steak dinner and a private room at a strip club and they're in your pocket - of course if it's the top tier then it's free private jet trips and vacations at billionaires resort properties and the occasional giant RV, but in reality - chump change.
All the right they promise - all the wrong they bring.

Waste of time urging the current SCOTUS with that. It's no longer made up of responsible stewards, with a couple of (outnumbered) exceptions. The rest are kissing the wannabe King's ass no matter what he does.
Trvmp will just expand the court with cronies that have agreed to do his bidding. He’ll add 4 more justices so that we have one judge for each circuit plus John Robert’s running the federal court of appeals.
He may even order a reorganization of the circuits. Circuits 8, 9 and 10 could, and probably should if were being honest, be split creating an additional 3 circuits allowing him 7 extra judges total.
This is what I advocated for long before the tangerine turd took a dump on the country.
Had Biden done it when pressured we wouldn’t be suffering as much as we currently are.
What would a suit be for? Thanks to the Supreme Court’s own ruling, Trump can legally walk into their chamber and shoot them in the face. Literally.
Okay, technically it would be up to their successors to determine if that was an “official act.”
I can’t IMAGINE what they’d conclude.

Um -- that would be "hoist," not "hoisted."
Roberts smug face needs to be DOGED.
John Roberts, the Angel Hernandez of American jurisprudence
Ozzy would approve of this message!

What a ridiculous article.
It chapped someone's ass otherwise you wouldn't be here.
I'd say "Do tell," but honestly, "Hush, the adults are talking" seems to meet the moment better.
The traitor John Roberts should ponder what army he plans to have on hand to back up any decision AFL deems unacceptable.
Capitol Police?

Work environment? They get to take their hoods off and have a good laugh at the picture of the most recent lynching.

Ta, Gary. No notes.
"Guards! Take this judge outside and shoot him! and when you are done, shoot yourselves!"
I'm pretty sure that's what the Mule said in that episode of "Foundation."
