Sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you, it was mostly yelling at the universe in frustration. I've been "recycling" since before it was a public thing - collecting cans as a kid and badgering one of my parents to haul me and my stinky bags down to the scrap metal yard and to this day I'm faithfully squinting at the embossed symbols on the bottom of packages. It just burns me that half of what we do is co-opted by industry groups to give us feel-good moments while the problem accelerates. We are poisoning the planet and at some point will make the ecosystems that we all depend on collapse. Life on Earth won't disappear, but the likelihood that we will be among the survivors is slim.

:)The most likely way life would be scoured from Earth is with a runaway greenhouse effect like on Venus. Beyond a certain point heat-hardening of proteins simply doesn't work anymore and all living things die. But it's not like we as a species are irresponsible enough to heat up our planet to the point where permafrost melts, right? Right?
