I find them deeply confusing. If I'm guessing at the methodology correctly, the percentages represent the sum of those who were chosen "most admired" and those who were chosen "second-most admired". Okay so far.

But the sum for the top ten women is 40%, and for the top ten men is 36%. This means the other 60+% were distributed (at 1% or less for each) among a possibly very large number of other unnamed persons.

There must be at least another 60 men and 60 women who got a fraction of a percent. Who were these people? Why don't they get air time along with Laurabush and Pootie?

This is like the anti-Pareto distribution. Talk about your long tail.
