They find kindred spirits they can share their racism with and let it rip.

Exactly - suddenly not having to be, as they like to couch it "politically correct" (e.g not an obvious racist bigot) they can let their bigot flag fly.

And not just thinking, the worst kind of thinking, the kind that the Texas GOP now officially opposes: critical thinking.

When you see the audience of Fox News nodding along with Clive Bundy about how black people are all too lazy to get a job, that's how you know that yes, they are racist. When you see them rushing to donate to Paul Ryan after he complains about the pushback he got for saying people in "inner cities" have no culture of work, that's also how you know that yes, they're racist. Sorry, there's just too much talk of the inferiority of black people to allow the claim that there's not much racism any more. Sometimes they even forget to use the dog whistle, like John Derpyshire.

You don't defund them entirely -- you let the philanthropist Kochroaches offer to take up the slack. Provided that they <a href="http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/politics\/2011\/05\/10\/165015\/koch-florida-state\/" target="_blank">get to name the faculty</a>, of course ... a small price to pay, because <a href="http:\/\/my.firedoglake.com\/cgibson\/2014\/04\/09\/is-charles-koch-funding-climate-science-denial-in-florida-state-university-economics\/" target="_blank">what could possilby go wrong</a>?

If Hoft were to publish his blog in meatspace, I guarantee there would be a primary use for it other than reading.

And for Mass Communication and Business schools, we have Mark Savage and Eric Bolling.

Sad but true: typing "smug asshole" into the googles doesn't immediately produce wall-to-wall pictures of Eric Bolling.
