Joe and Mika were, perhaps more than anyone else I can think of, responsible for normalizing Trmup in 2015-16, and giving him almost limitless airtime on their show, until they realized that he was actually likely to be elected, by which time it was too fucking late to change their tune.

So seriously, fuck 'em both.

Clark Nova's avatar

How many agents in THEIR security team?

WhateverLolawantsLolagets's avatar

Ok, but consider this. We all know how Trump is easily manipulated by people who are "nice" to him, right? Sometimes you have to get "in" to effect a person that can burn down democracy. Just sayin'....

clairence's avatar

is that what Lindsey and Mitch are doing? Playing the long game?

WhateverLolawantsLolagets's avatar

Lulz...I mean, I don't know. Probably not. Mitch & Lindsey do it for money & power. I don't suppose Morning Joe & Mika know how to play the long game, or they'd have started a whole lot earlier. They're scared.

gullywompr's avatar

Thanks for pointing out that Trump is not President yet. Also too - Not only is Trump not the President yet, he's not even President Elect yet. Just a reminder, the American people don't elect the President, they elect electors, who will meet on December 17 to elect the President, after which the person is the President Elect until inauguration on Jan 20, when you can call him president.

In other words, anything could happen between now and Dec. 17, and Biden has immunity...

But probably doesn't have the gumption.

Henry30's avatar

Why anyone from MSNBC would go anywhere near Mar-a-Lardo and the orange a-hole is mind-boggling to say the least. Why give the appearance of begging or giving tRump ammunition to disgrace you? Why give that dipshit any personal attention at all?

They've got to reposition themselves to protect their future ratings.

swmnguy's avatar

So a Tea Party guy and the architect of America's collapsing fever-dream of global Empire are paying their respects to Trump? So much angst could have been avoided if they'd just kissed his feet nine years ago as they were inevitably going to do eventually.

Seriously, if I were related to Zbigniew Brzezinski I'd change my name.

thephantomcheese's avatar

Poland should disavow their existence... "They're not from our country"

swmnguy's avatar

Brzezinski was a Galician. So, depending on the century, either Polish or Ukrainian. The history there is blood-drenched.

If you took a Pole, a Ukrainian and a Russian, and told each they could kill one of the others; but only one so they'd have to choose; you'd have three people completely locked up for quite a while. That's pretty much the foundational assumption of Brzezinski's entire body of work. If it destroys the whole world while destroying Russia; fine with him.

The US has outperformed by getting Poland to support Ukraine recently. It's a very fragile state, as shown by the Polish farmer's objections to special treatment given to Ukrainian farm products, and the recurring disputes over mass graves of Poles massacred by Ukrainian Fascists in the WWII era. The Poles are gritting their teeth and tolerating the Bandera fetishists controlling Ukraine right now, because it vexes the Russians and the US has made vague promises to Poland; but they're not likely to put up with it much longer.

And there's a reason Putin has gotten a lot of mileage out of claims the Poles want to annex territory that's now western Ukraine. It's because there's more than a grain of truth to those claims, as they originate from far-Right Poles.

WhateverLolawantsLolagets's avatar

Anything from the far right is likely a lie or manipulation.

swmnguy's avatar

Usually, yes. But sometimes they flat-out say what they have in mind, also.

How much will ever come out, and would anyone even recognize, or believe Truth, anyway?

RFK evidently now after the Ozempic. Mostly just to fat-police you with his opinion, since his facts are either made up or incorrect.

Do they work? Do they help with diabetes? Why the insulting phrasing?

WhateverLolawantsLolagets's avatar

Lulz....I'm using insulting phrasing...you said fat-police. Yes they do help with diabetes & help with weight loss. Ozempic isn't the only game in town. Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, & Ro. Ro is expensive though....too expensive.

Sloth's avatar

Those are all the same class of medicine? We have the highest medicinal costs globally due to crony capitalism and poor management?

Just got here - four seconds ahead of TABZ - I knew the fix was in - when MSNBC hired Rashid Talib ? - as president and she fired or gutted all the progressive shows - I remember seeing Chris on air with a loose collar on a dirty shirt - it was not good -

Internet Personae's avatar

“On March 29, 2021, MSNBC introduced a refreshed logo and on-air imaging, including a rebranding of its MSNBC Live rolling news block as MSNBC Reports (in support of Jones' goal of clearer separation between news- and analysis-based programs).”

- I knew I was wrong about her name - but she came in like a wrecking ball - Rachel Maddow who was the heart of progressive television was dropped to one night a week in exchange for a couple of documentaries that were great and that no one saw - not all changes require a change of personnel at the anchor desk - Biden had just won and all the networks became more “balanced” - BTW - this is not a new position for me - I’ve been bitching about it ever since - labeling a show progressive doesn’t mean that it is - no doubt I was heavily involved in watching MSNBC - I had broken my back and was spending a large amount of time living vicariously through tv - I felt we had just won the war and corporate media was throwing it all away - which they did - I don’t think that’s babbling - but I am not piling on - my first campaign was for Bobby Kennedy - I just call them like I see them -

WhateverLolawantsLolagets's avatar

You have literally NO CLUE what you are babbling about. She never gutted any "progressive" shows...she added them, wtf? are you talking about. What do you think all those new people are for. Wagner is a walking talking disaster, you have Psaki, & Welker, & the one I like, which is Menendez. Wagner doesn't deserve a show because she sucks at it. I avoid her & Chris Hayes.

lower case's avatar

Rashida Jones. Rashid Talib is a progressive Congresswoman from Michigan. But yes. I haven't had cable in years, so I haven't watched MSNBC lately. I did cancel Peacock once Mehdi Hassan was fired.

I knew I was wrong - sorry I was too pissed to be right - lol -

“ The Nazi agitator whom, many years ago, I heard proclaim to a wildly cheering peasants’ meeting: ‘We don’t want lower bread prices, we don’t want higher bread prices, we don’t want unchanged bread prices—we want National-Socialist bread prices,’ came nearer explaining fascism than anybody I have heard since.” — Pete Drucker

Sloth's avatar

So can we just lable a the Doritos and Bread and Eggs with MAGA stickers, and avoid mass famine?

Nancy Naive's avatar

There won’t be a famine! The mass executions will reduce the strain on the food shortages.

“ ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ faces a daunting task”

You betcha! Stealing government money without leaving a paper trail is exceedingly difficult. Better the stick to a less lucrative bribery scheme.

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

Daunting task.

Mother fucking press. Daunting task.

Sloth's avatar

He's gonna show up with another sink.

MRK's avatar

It's a failure from the start. Creating a new department and adding staff to become more efficient? Tell me you don't know what efficiency means.

JCfromNC's avatar

Remember, it's not a department, that has to be created by an act of congress. It's just an advisory committee so that Leon can try to hamstring his rivals and block any investigations coming his way.

ExecutorElassus's avatar

And also don't forget that foreign or private actors absolutely *will* treat him as if he were a public official, just without all those pesky things like "paper trail," "record keeping," "FOIA requests," or "accountability."

The unofficial nature of the department is a feature, not a bug.

skinnercitycyclist's avatar

Logan Act. If "law" means anything anymore.

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

I doubt this coming congress will say no if TFG tells them to make it a department

MRK's avatar

It's still the opposite of making things more efficient, however it's done.

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

I have the feeling that efficiency is not really the goal, and that he and his cronies will be the ones sifting through social media looking for those disloyal to TFG

Former Preschool Teacher Downs Russian Cruise Missile with Her First “Live” Shoot

Three years ago, Natalia Hrabarchuk was a preschool teacher but on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 17 she took out a Kh-101 missile with an “Igla” MANPADS missile.

Bitcoin mining is (potentially) dirty business.

Latest updates on the geezer who accidentally threw away a hard drive containing 8000 Bitcoins and his battles with the local council to let him sift through 100000 tonnes of landfill to find it.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgr0dyy152jo

Sojourner Truth's avatar

So if these things are allegedly worth $60,000 each, why wouldn't someone have that data backed up on at least 2 different drives?

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

they were not worth that at the time he threw it away. They were worthless when he did that. Allegedly.

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

oh aye. This story has stunk since it hit a few years ago

And not because of the garbage dump XD

Old Man Yells at Cloud's avatar

Back up your data people.

Keep a copy off site.

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

not 100% but I do not think crypto works like that. For some reason I seem to recall it is not something you back up and take with you

Fool tossed his computer after the first crypto flop (there had been so many!) like right before the Big Tech Bros bought it up cheap and started selling it off to the morons to raise the price. Then he had regrets

No one even knows for sure if he actually had 8000 bitcoins or whatever on that thing. There's no tracking, it is just his say so

Old Man Yells at Cloud's avatar

Crypto wallets are nothing more than data. Technically, they don't even have to be stored on a computer but paper copies are far less convenient than electronic.

Any data stored on a computer can be copied. Once copied it is a back up as long as it can be read.

thephantomcheese's avatar

Also, any data stored on a computer becomes forever unreadable if one bit goes missing...

C&A Bongo Man's avatar

"Mr Howells previously offered the council 25% of the value of the coins to be used on local community projects, but said he had now reduced his offer to 10%.

Last month, he announced that he was suing Newport City Council for £495,314,800 in damages."

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

Does not understand what "He threw it away" means?

Sojourner Truth's avatar

Eh. People have been accidentally throwing away cash squirreled away in some old jar or the like for decades.

Jen Is Discrete's avatar

right, but when you throw something away, you relinquish ownership.

JCfromNC's avatar

I am curious to know how he expects to search a landfill for it, although not curious enough to read the article to see if that's covered in it.

Old Man Yells at Cloud's avatar

A big ass magnet because someone dumb enough to dispose of a disk containing their data by dumping it in the trash is dumb enough to use a magnet to pick up said spinning rust drive.

Thatsit Fortheotherwon's avatar

Who minted it? If Trump, it's probably ferrous.
