It does seem to me that those in power are doing a heck of a lot of extortion with the powers they have currently. If it takes a year for the CBD law to go into effect this provides time for Trump to make one of his extortion deals.

So I got to the part where they killed off THC from the farm bill and panicked. I live in Indiana, and we only have the low dose Delta 8 THC allowed here. It used to be just vapes, but this summer they finally got approval to sell flower - real weed, but weak - in all the smoke shops that have popped up on every corner of my town.

But then the shutdown happened, and that put the farm bill on hold. Weed was taken out of every store in town, although they could still sell vapes and gummies. Now I read this, and it sounds like it's gone for good.

So, I went to the website where I get a good deal on gummies, and they sell flower too. I impulse bought a bunch of weed and gummies, because they may be gone for good. If anyone else is in my situation and despairing, DiamondCBD is still selling and shipping. And they're having a sitewide sale.

"You’ve got a continuing resolution to keep the government funded through January, along with a couple of appropriations bills, funding SNAP through the end of the fiscal year, and oh by the way, some Republican senators can now extort the government for half a million dollars each and the legalized hemp industry is — pardon the pun — going up in smoke."

The hypocrisy of the RINOs is still breathtaking despite its being expected. MAGA Mike has repeatedly made clear that he would allow no amendments or modifications to the "clean" CR. The Senate RINOs made modifications anyway and since the revised CR has the imprimatur of the Fulvous Fuckwad Johnson will reopen the House to approve the Senate version:

> "This time, Johnson will be asking Republicans to swallow two full FY2026 spending bills — Agriculture and Legislative Branch — ***that the chamber never passed***.

Yet House Appropriations Committee cardinals — including HFC Chair Andy Harris (R-Md.) — helped negotiate the minibus compromise. So the speaker is hoping to get back up from conservatives.

And remember: The White House is in favor of this package. So you should expect Trump [sic] to help move votes if needed." [emphasis added] https://punchbowl.news/article/house/house-coming-back/

Besides, never underestimate the corruption of pols, especially RINOs and $500 k is chump change when compared to the Corrupt Coral Coward's demands to DOJ for $230 mil for legitimate investigations into his criminality:

> "In Trump’s [sic] case, his attorneys filed two separate administrative claims over allegations that he was damaged by the several federal investigations and prosecutions he faced both during his first term as president and while he was out of office, according to the New York Times and the forms they have published.

The first claim, filed in 2023, seeks damages over the investigations into whether his 2016 presidential campaign had worked with Russia to help him win the election. The second, filed in 2024, accuses the FBI and DOJ of violating Trumps privacy during a search of his Mar-a-Lago estate and of malicious prosecution for the subsequent charges he faced over mishandling classified documents." https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/22/politics/trump-doj-request-230-mil-explained

"Or maybe you have a medical condition and these help you manage the pain?"

I have used medical Cannabis since it was made available, and acquired it illegally before then, to help manage pain, anxiety, and PTSD. If the Senate decision isn't overturned before it goes into effect then Big Pharma gonna make a shitload more money from me and others like me. The price I'll be paying for prescriptions that will do the same thing will cost me (or Medicare and my Part D Supplemental) beaucoup more. FWIW, it will also cost the gubmint more; I can write off my prescriptions but since Cannabis is still a Class I drug I can't deduct it from my taxes.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the hemp thing. I would think that the some of the companies are owned by republican donors. Trump will most likely give these companies a special dispensation, just as long as they say “sir, sir, you are the only person in history and in the world who could help us make billions of dollars”. That and a $500 million dollar donation. So you CBD users in states where weed isn’t legal, you’ll be able to still get your CBD at a 2000% price increase. Never forget that everything the narcoleptic flesh bag does is completely transactional.

Back in January 2024, before it was gutted, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated there were 42,800 people employed in the US coal industry.

That would mean the US has something like 8 or 9 workers in the cannabis/hemp industry for each worker in the coal industry.

Fuck it, kill the filibuster. I'm serious. Let the GOP pass every horrible, despicable, cruel bill their black hearts desire. Then let democrats reverse it all when they take congress back as a result.

We were never supposed to require a supermajority to pass legislation; that is how the articles of confederation worked, and it was a big part of why they failed.
