It's increasingly clear that Trump doesn't want testing. It will show too many infections, which will "make him look bad." He doesn't want to find out that we had multiple unreported cases, including deaths, before he grandiosely "shut down" travel from China (apart from the forty thousand travelers who came in after that). He doesn't want to know how many people have it now, even when the experts say "we can't leave lockdown unless we know!" He's got a good feeling about "reopening." Sunlight will fix it. Nobody's died in hot, humid places, like Florida, Georgia, or Louisiana! Viruses and diseases don't like all that sun and humidity, you know; that's why those areas have always been the safest, least disease-ridden places around, and it's why people like going there, because it's so safe!

Gah. Distracted myself channeling the guy with the very good [points at ear-hair] you-know. Point is, he doesn't want testing, because it will show him up. He never wants to know expert opinion of facts, when he can rely on his incomparably broken instincts.

It isn't economics driving these guys, it is greed and serving their masters.

Every numbnuts in this Maladministration seems ready to "invoke" the DPA (whenever a reporter asks), but that doesn't seem to be quite the same as actually using the damned law to get anything actually built. They might as well "invoke" Jeebus and half of the saints.

It's going to take at least 3 consecutive Democratic administrations to repair the damage done by this one Republican administration. That only gets us to where we used to be, which wasn't so great to begin with. To really make change happen it will take even more sanity, competence and patriotism, which is in short supply.

I’m betting that every time someone suggests invoking DPA, Mnuchin, Kudlow, or some other corporate shill shoots it down because huuuurts business.

Meanwhile, Biff seems to think just saying he’s going to invoke it at on of his daily Blow Me Briefings is just as good.

Biff thinks you can cure just by drinking bleach and shining at light on a person.

Look for those solutions to be touted on the Laura Ingraham White Power Hour very soon.
