Remember, the first groups the original Nazis arrested, then put in camps/killed were LGBTQ+ folks and People (particularly Children) with Disabilities.

Trump wants to be Hitler 2.0 and he is getting help from Republicans in congress and the Supreme Court. He is throwing lots of distractions in our faces hoping we won't see the "man behind the curtain trick." What we need is an active program of action that will take hime out of office. You kill a snake by cutting off its head and neutralizing the venom in its fangs. If we do not get rid of Trump, we can expect that the ICE Gestapo raids and the illegal deportations will increase, not lessen, and the refusal of other nations to do business with the United States will multiply.

Trump wants a new Nazi Nation and MAGA and the Republican Party are marching to his orders. We will not get prosperity. We will get an isolated nation with this Orange Baboon beating his chest while wearing his MAGA hat until the White House is decorated like an 1890's whore house, women have no rights, we have another pandemic because pubic health systems have been gutted police do damage with impunity and oil slicks coat the streams of this nation. I do not want a 1950'a America nor a 1930's Germany,.

I think at this point, the Court is really only concerned with preserving and expanding their own power. Blatant inconsistency serves that. They'll bounce back and forth, refuse to set a clear precedent that will settle things, then decide on a case-by-case basis from the resulting deluge of cases. This kind of thing is standard fascist policymaking, and modus operandi has become standard in the other two branches of our fascist government, why should the Court be any different?

The Supreme Court does not believe in the US Constitution: Passed by the Senate on June 8, 1866, and ratified two years later, on July 9, 1868, the Fourteenth Amendment granted citizenship to all persons "born or naturalized in the United States," including formerly enslaved people, and provided all citizens with “equal protection under the laws,” extending the provisions of the Bill of Rights to the states.

If I said what I *really* think, I'd get banned for life.

It's really fucking interesting how religious extremists are the ones who always claim persecution, isn't it?

Ta, Marcie. There have ALWAYS been trans people; that remains true whether or not they receive gender affirming care. Remember: Trans rights are human rights. Nothing less and nothing else will do. Ever. We'll be allies until we breathe our last.

These trans-hating knuckle draggers talk and write - the ones who can - constantly, as though gender-switching kids were everywhere and millions more were being brainwashed into taking the treatment when they would never have thought of it if evil lefties hadn't given them the idea. Trans kids are rare. What terrifies the knuckle-draggers is that trans kids EXIST and are visible.

I have been avoiding reading this article because I have been dealing with other shitty things today (including my best friend's mom being killed and her daughter gravely injured in an auto accident). I am so fucking pissed off at everything right now and as the parent of a trans child who is receiving gender affirming care that for him is MEDICALLY NECESSARY AND I KNOW I AM SHOUTING INTO THE VOID. Children (and adults) are going to die because of religious bigotry.

JFC it would be one thing if they just came out and said they’re against trans kids period vs that ridiculous twisted logic. Sounded eerily similar to Bruenigs logic of the brain dead mom isn’t being denied her choice because she has no choice. Because she’s brain dead.

I realize the arc of the moral universe is long but is it anywhere before the heat death of the sun?

Always remember, "States' Rights" are only valid when a state wishes to harm a vulnerable minority. That is one of the reason every last election is important and everyone must vote. Because those of us who didn't get our rights from the start in America only have them through statute.

And make no mistake this is an effective adjunct to the sadopopulism that gets these monsters into power. This is the outcome the braying unreconstructed bigots want. They want trans people isolated at all times. They want those who are young to not find support so that they can be ridiculed for "transitioning late" when an adult. In short, torturing vulnerable minorities is the constitutionally protected activity with this rightwing court.

No government should have the goal of making children appreciate the sex they were born with, and no government should force an individual to live in that sex. The state has no compelling interest in forcing people to do that, and no right to decide for individuals how they must live.

Meh, one more American institution willing to throw trans people under the bus to placate MAGA. Frankly, I'm surprised it took this long.
