Ta, Dok. I really don't want my produce picked by prisoners who are rented out to farmers and orchardists.

Cats also favor puking on the very expensive real persian wool oriental rug you have beside your bed. Ideally, they do so right where you'll put your feet when you get up to micturate; they want you to remember them, fondly or otherwise.

Will the SCOTUS stand up for America when it's most critical? I think the answer to that question is becoming clearer with each of these reprehensible decisions the Court makes. Trump has largely replaced the Constitution with the Fuhrerprinzip, and apparently the Court is fine with that.

Even the court that decided Lochner would be appalled by this bunch, I think, and that court was as reactionary as it got.

The illegitimate Supreme Klux Kourt already flunked that test last summer, when they ruled $hitler can commit any crimes he wants against our country and our people, including pardoning his minions and accomplices.

“and sending them to a torture prison forever without so much as a hearing”

This is the key point here. This is why it’s like the concentration camps. They are detained in a foreign prison indefinitely without any recourse to be released. They are literally being sold into slavery for life.

I thought they were being deported - not necessarily jailed…are you sure everyone used this way would be incarcerated or would it be a “case by case “?

Wait, so they just have to release a single one while a million others are being locked up in concentration and extermination camps and you would stop calling it immoral? That's messed up.

You are misconstruing my meaning here which is about process and whether people who are deported are all sent to "prisons" or whether many are just dropped off in the other country to fend for themselves...not in a incarcerated situation.

Clearly, everyone who is deported is not sent to foreign prisons and I want to separate out "who's who..."

Where do you get anything out of this related to saying it is not or is "immoral"?

Ah, June. The beginning of summer and the season of bracing ourselves to see which civil right the six right-wingers on the Supreme Court will take away this year before fucking off on vacation. Members of the far-Reich retain NO integral capacity to appreciate sarcasm. They are not clever enough to recognize and embrace the necessary wit and wherewithal involved.

Those are simply the FACTS, and if they hurt some registered Rethuglicons fragile fee-fees I do not particularly give any airborne profanities.

I'm confused. SCOTUS put an injunction on a lower court? And what is the lower court supposed to do? Since they are really quite clear on the subject. And where does it go after the lower court. SCOTUS seems hellbent on making itself irrelevant.

And when an American gets caught up in this, without due process what is that person supposed to do from a storage container in Sudan?

I've got a voluntary "Know Your Rights" training at 4:00 through work. (It sounds like people were clamoring for such a thing, cuz' we've had ICE assholes around these parts.) I'm hoping it's informative.

Also O/T:

WASHINGTON—House Democrats passed over Boston Representative Stephen Lynch in selecting their next leader on the Oversight committee Tuesday, choosing a much less senior lawmaker to be part of their vanguard to push back against President Trump.

Democrats instead selected Representatives Robert Garcia, 47, of California, a second-term lawmaker. The vote was 150-63.

Garcia’s victory over Lynch, 70, was the latest example of the diminishing regard for seniority in the party, as Democrats handily selected the junior congressman over Lynch’s 24 years of congressional experience. Lawmakers said after the vote that Garcia ran a strong internal campaign that persuaded his colleagues that his management experience as a former mayor and his ability to communicate Democrats’ competing vision to Trump were right for the job.

I've often wondered if it was possible to create a Progressive Trump. TFG's success stems from his ability to allow his followers to be their worst selves without shame or repercussions. Progressives are always cajoling people to be better, more compassionate, and accepting, and that's the problem. That flies in the face of people's natural fears of losing power, status, and the means of satisfying their own needs before those of others. It means that there can really be no such thing as a Progressive Trump who could take followers outside themselves to a wider, more positive view of an inclusive society.

I don't think the government had to argue why they selected South Sudan as a destination. My guess is, first, the cruelty is the point. It's a dangerous place. Second, the U.S. can likely lean on its government or drop some sweeteners their way, to get them to take in a bunch of convicted criminals who are not their nationals.
