Commerce Secretary Howard Nutlick....Oops, sorry. Lutnick, said back in March 2025 during the "All-in Podcast" that 1000 of these "cards" sold in one day, for $5,000,000,000. Except, there is no program yet, no process in place, nor any money actually paid. Can we say "hoax", "scam", or "lies" yet?
Because in Tinpot’s tiny brain case, the only immigrants clean and worthy enough of becoming citizens in Trumpistan are WEALTHY immigrants. You know, desperate immigrants with $5 million frickin dollars to spend. You betcha.
Donald Trump, of course, is convinced that law is whatever he says it is. He's equally convinced that to oppose him on that issue is treason. This would not, in his tiny mind, be true in the case of any other president, and especially not a Dem president.
As Doug Rand, a former immigration official in the Biden administration, told WaPo, “There’s no lawful basis to do this, and if they do it anyway, they’re going to get sued, and they’re almost certainly going to lose.”
Have we learned nothing in the last 6 months? The FFOTUS will appeal and appeal all the way until SCOTUS gives him the thumbs up.
Absolutely love this! It calls it like it is, tacky and cardstock. I'd never want to carry a card that had his visage on it at any time. He can just throw it in the recycle bin where it belongs!
“There’s zero appetite for people in Congress to consider this right now,” says a Cato Institute guy - cos they're too busy cutting funding to emergency warning systems and disaster recovery programs
Another immigration attorney in WaPo, Rosanna Berardi of Buffalo, says, “This administration keeps forgetting that the executive branch doesn’t make the law.”
If only they'd watched Schoolhouse Rock. But then, it's probably socialist (like the rest of children's programming, according to MAGA)
"is not actually a valid $5 million citizenship agreement with the United States for high rollers"
This is my shocked face. Who'd a thunk that this was probably just another grift?

"no real rich people were actually that interested in it anyway"
I don't see many of the world's über rich that are interested in becoming a citizen of a first world alpha country that is rapidly becoming a third world one. Who among the morbidly, obscenely rich wants to be a citizen where your naturalization can be revoked for pissing off the wrong person or (although it hasn't happened yet) you might accidently trip and fall from your penthouse patio?

"Must feel like the 1980s in New York for him."
I lived in NYC and was part of the construction trade (marketing high end finishes for commercial buildings) and had access to architects and contractors designing and building several of the Fulvous Fuckwad's homages to his ego -- which was yuge even 40 years ago. In actuality, this was likely his heyday. A large amount of his profits came from screwing contractors by refusing to pay the agreed upon amount in their contract. This was also the time when he discovered the joys of lawfare; he would tell the contractor that if they wanted to be paid the full amount then sue him, and then his lawyers file (bogus) counterclaims and frivolous motions to delay... delay... delay. Eventually the contractors usually gave up when their legal fees approached what they were owed; and some were forced out of business because they couldn't pay their bills until the Whale-sized Pumpkin Wannabe Potentate paid his.

"These people really do get off on smelling their own farts, don’t they?"
A vast majority of these individuals are empty suits filled with flatulence. Prick one of them and you better have a gas mask handy to deal with all the noxious fumes that will be emitted. The rest of them are walking embodiments of explosive diarrhea, with a few -- like the Sociopathic Marigold Swamp Monster, Stephen Miller, and all of the variants of Birkenau Barbie (DHS, DNI, White House spox Leavitt...) -- are also shitstains in the world's underwear.
Howie Crutnick claimed in March that 1000 people had bought the Golden Visa. In June he claimed 70 thousand people had signed up for the visa. So, is someone feeding him a bill of goods, which he keeps falling for, or is he the serial liar? From what I know of the dumbass either is possible.
The type of person that would WANT that doesn't have the money, and anyone that has that kind of money has no desire to spend that amount of coin on something they don't really need because they are already rich & privileged.
But at least we all got to see another golden image of his constipation grimace, and the true believers have a new image to clip and glue to their ceiling to help them get their fap on.
"He also said that eventually the program could effectively pay off the entirety of the U.S. debt, more than $36 trillion, meaning more than 7 million people would need to sign up for visas."
Like that $36T, or most of it, wouldn't end up in his Cayman Island account somehow.
There are apparently around 60 million millionaires on Earth, 40 percent of whom are already Americans. So there are 36 million non-American millionaires. I have no idea how many of that number could throw 5 million into a bid for US citizenship, but it's obviously a considerably smaller number. In other words it's not gonna happen.
We should be able to form some kind of exchange. I'd trade my citizenship for the same in any number of non-shithole countries. Of course those citizens mostly don't want to come here.
Plus there’s the fact that the EB-5 visa, which already has the backing of law, does not cost $5 million. What exactly is the incentive for someone who might want to start a business here to pay $5 million AND blow Krasnov just for the same privilege?

They confused the bots flooding their unsecured registration system for gauging interest as real people.
Any wealthy immigrants are taking their $5 million and getting the hell outta here.

I see Sir outside a courthouse holding up a placard: "I was patted down. Thank you for your attention to this matter! signed Donald J. Trump"

"a relocation coach and co-founder of GTFO Tours" ... capitalism rises to the occasion once again.
