Nope. But everyone knows that gas mark 4 is a medium oven and you use gas mark 1/2 for meringues. Britain isn’t fully metric. We weigh people in stone and pounds. We buy pints of milk and measure distance in miles. Height is in feet and inches. Lots of people work in imperial for measurements still. When I went to primary school, we were taught exclusively in metric, but my mum cooked in imperial. I can’t visualise in imperial, but can in metric.
