Yes, we know, wolves have gotten an unfair rep. Just imagine it's an HMO executive. Just when we think we're cynical enough, when we're fairly sure we've heard every possible variation on plans the Republicans are hatching to transfer wealth from the middle and even from the bottom up to the richest Americans, along comes something that tops those horrors and makes us go lie down. You'd think we'd be used to it by now, huh? But consider us once again whomperjawed at the sheer greedy class warfare at work in a policy that's already been proposed in Congress by Tom Price, Donald Trump's nominee as Secretary of Health and Human Services: A change in how Medicare works that would allow hospitals and doctors to
Okay, but legitimate question: what did they think was going to happen when they, with votes, handed all three branches of government over to a party that has literally been campaigning on cutting and privatizing Medicare and Social Security for decades? If somebody pulls the rug out from under you with no warning, that's one thing; if somebody says "If you step on this rug I'm going to pull it out from under you," and you step on it deliberately anyway, I'm not sure "I've been scammed!" is an entirely reasonable reaction when that person does exactly what they say they would and you land on your ass.
For real, Republicans have not tried to hide this stuff. They hate Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. W tried to privatize SS when he was in the White House. How can the attacks on these programs, from people who have been swearing to get rid of them since they were put in place, possibly be a surprise?
It's not just health insurance. When I moved--to a house in a safer nabe, on a side instead of a main street, half the size, half the value--my insurance quote was double. I said sorry, gonna have to shop around (I didn't have to get insurance bc I have no mortgage, so I had the flexibility). Miraculously, I ended up with the identical coverage for my original cost (apparently the house AROUND me are more expensive, so that makes my rate go up?). These fuckers just see what they can get away with.
Oh come now, you didn't think the congressional teatards would actually contemplate the consequences of doing whatever big pharma/healthcare told them to do, did you?
I thought about this issue overnight. . .did not sleep well. . . and it seems to me that we really need a law that says "Anything Congress or any government agency imposes on recipients of government services that are financed by federal taxes (such as Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid) must automatically apply to all government employees, including Congress."
I think in the back of his sick mind he thought he was doing the families a favor, getting rid of their elderly relatives in a clean, painless way. At least, I think that's how he justified it to himself. He would have got away with it entirely if he had slowed down and killed maybe 1 or 2 people per month, but psychos always develop a God Complex and lose control.
That's because YOU see it as a system intended to deliver healthcare to as many people as possible, as efficiently as possible.
The people in charge in the US see it as a system designed to further enrich the already-rich, by providing the minimum amount of healthcare for vast and not-necessarily related sums of money.
This was all laid out in detail by liberal bloggers and the rare independent media outfit in the Aughties, and the ACA just stuck a band-aid on top of the oozing pus-generating abscess to defer having to deal with the problem because the massive forces of money on the side of the insurance/medical device/pharmaceutical/hospital billing industries.
So basically kill off the Republican base is what you are saying?

Thanks N0bama!!
Now you've given me one reason to appreciate living in the Bible Belt, which I didn't have before. No Catholic hospitals in my area.

This one was not convicted. Total # of victims is unknown, estimated to be 50-60. Most people have never heard of him.http://murderpedia.org/male...
Jeebus. WTF is wrong with these people?
It's the only thing that I could think up that was succinct. "President Lizard Brain" was too long.

There is speculation that it is a form of Munchhausen-by-Proxy. It sounds appropriate.
If you're in a room for observation, you also do have to pay for the TV and phone usage, so, y'know... TRANNY!

Yes, we're fucked.
Remember 'health savings accounts'? Same song, different verse...
