"President Trump is a candidate who is not afraid of hearing from new loud and often critical voices …"

That's why the guy spent his whole speech praising Trump and why every Republican spent the convention talking about how Trump is a bigger martyr than Jesus. Because Trump loves to hear critical voices, and he is very accepting of those who disagree with him or who don't praise him in every sentence they utter.

Why are they all named Sean? So confusing.

I hate them so much

Well said. I saw someone making excuses for him (specifically: Beau of the Fifth Column) and as a union gal myself I was like WTF, not only because the speech itself was sus, but also because Sean gave a lot of love to Josh Hawley and his anti-DEI, anti-trans BS.

Mayhaps Sean has not checked lately because he's so Boston it sounds like he craps clam chowder, but a large proportion of labor is not male, is not white, is not straight.

As someone who is a member of the Building Trades and the AFL-CIO for forty plus years, I would just like to say fuck that scab. That POS doesn't even rate an exclamation point.

As a non-union member (I'd love to be, but my field doesn't really have them), is there a process for getting him removed? It sounds like a majority of the union want his ass gone.

AFT/NEA for 30 years, I concur.

Fuck that guy! He’s a goddamned traitor and should be removed from office. Somebody said he was hoping for some kind of position in Trump’s WH. The position he’s obtained so far the kneeling one. ()

I draw the line at donating

If he's going to go there and somehow reverse-psychology an arena full of idiots into agreeing to a handful of anodyne things they'd otherwise reflexively oppose, I'd see what he's up to. Otherwise. Why?

Can you imagine any right wing group leader doing this at the DNC and thanking the DNC for their courage and making Trump sound weak? You can almost hear the cash register ching sound when stuff like this happens.

So the party that 100 percent supports you is weak because they didn’t absolutely decimate unions first and then deign to let you speak? Yeah that makes sense.

I was a IAM union member for 12 years and the overwhelming majority were hard right Republicans, loved themselves some Ronnie Raygun. I hope union members are smarter these days.

Sadly many are not. This teamster president for example. Backing anti union rethugs only makes the union weaker, members get discouraged, then back anti union rethugs. The cycle continues, the CEOs party in the Seychelles.
