Not much news out of Tennessee has raised a smile on me, for a long time now. But this does!

I just want to say, Justin is served.

Mr. Pearson looks very young for a fashion icon of the 1970s.

I'm sorry. I'm unclear. Between the two Black males and the White woman, who did the Republicans eject?

In TN, huh? Cool!

Go Vols! Wait! Don't Go Vols. They went in on the other side. Dang.

I have mixed feelings about TN cause Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift homes there.

What a sweet victory for those two!

Both are excellent speakers and smart men. May they go far in politics if they wish to. (We wish them to!)

I really hope this is an indicator of things to come for 2024.

I want to point out that not only were Justin Jones and Justin Pearson reelected, but so was Justin Pearson's Afro. A historic win, to be sure.

You just KNOW that afro scares the hell out of the powers-that-be in Tennessee.

EXACTLY! And for sure that's why Pearson rocks it.

I'm sure Angela Davis is pleased.

I love that look...MAN I hope it comes back!

The amount is well beyond the norm for Tennessee's Republican legislative leaders and virtually unheard of for two freshman Democrats in a superminority.

go woke - make Republicans cry

Massacre after massacre after massacre and Republicans remain steadfast in their protection of guns. You’d think THAT would be the controversial position but, no. Gotta punish these decent, rational, committed, compassionate, righteously angry young lawmakers for daring to serve their constituents and speak truth to power. Plus, the racism. Always, the racism. So glad that TN lege nonsense continues to backfire spectacularly.

I'll never get over Sandy Hook. That took me into the very real hate realm of all Rs. Even those who may not be rwnj they still vote for this fucked up R agenda allowing kids to be slaughtered in school. FUCK THEM TO DUST.

Manic Pixel Dream Girl's avatar

Agreed. Heartily. And then Uvalde? What is WRONG with them?! They treat guns like they treat climate change. Oh well, nothing we can do! 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s beyond rage-inducing. No words.

Now that some of the courts and parents of dead kids are going after the parents maybe they'll get an inkling of ownership and accountability.

Thanks, Tennessee GOP House idiots, for giving these *true* patriots a national profile, and potentially a political future of far greater power to shape the lives of even more constituents. Without the petty, entitled, white-privileged attempts to silence and oust them, many of us wouldn't have known about their courageous efforts.

Thanks to your childishly pissy, powermad repression, we got introduced to these promising leaders. Congratulations!

Let's help the GOP create more future statespeople of value. For us, of course.

One of my favorite actors, who was the person that was handicapped and rang a bell in the teevee series "Breaking Bad" passed away.

Joan Baez went to my daughters' High School, and spread her pacifist vibes.

Years later, they remain.
