Does Texass have any lawyers that would take this case on? Paxton must be sued.

Paxton doesn't consider himself bound by little things like ethics.

By the way, he's no longer under indictment for fraud -- a few months ago, the prosecutors who filed those charges back in 2015 gave up & made a deal, because the Asshole General kept using his office to get the venue moved to courts that liked him better than they liked the prosecutors or something. However, he may still be in legal trouble over the deputy AGs he fired for holding a press conference denouncing him for being a criminal (go figure!) -- supposedly there's still an investigation going on about that and some more criming that got him impeached by the TX House, but unfortunately NOT removed from office. And I'm now hoping for someone with standing to sue his ugly ass for harassment of LULAC and Latino voters.

Given the other stellar officials here (like Dr Evil, who prefers his harassment to be in the form of razor wire hidden in the river, and Dan Patrick, who does... whatever he does) I'm not holding my breath there will EVER be consequences. We can't vote them out of office for another two years, and of course, Paxton just tosses votes he doesn't happen to like, anyway.

Wish we could do the same with him.

"Harris County mail-in ballots that they wanted to send out were 2.5 million, those were all illegal"

Yep, sending out mail-in ballots to *registered* voters or voter registration forms are illegal -- at least in a Blue county in a Red state. Harris County had just under 2.5 million legal voters: 65.86% total votes cast in the county in 2020 and 57.81% voted early.

https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/historical/harris.shtml)

-----

"Harris County for three days and Donald Trump would've lost the election"

News flash for AG Paxton: the Fulvous Flatulence *did* lose the election -- with or without illegal Repub manipulation in Texas.

"Actual voting by mail in Texas is very restricted, only allowed for people who are ... in jail."

Wait... what? Prisoners in TX haven't been disenfranchised? IDK if the number of inmates are for those in county/local jails, state prisons, or both, but either way the TX prison population constitutes a sizeable voting bloc larger than the total population of three states and DC.

Don't those stupid TX Repubs realize that POCs, and especially African Americans, *all* vote Dem? The state needs to revamp their voting rules to deny prisoners from voting, a decision that will further the state's goals of legislating for Whites only, or maybe a limited number of POCs can be included.

I'm a bit surprised that Texas isn't more of a shade of purple if inmates can vote:

"While one out of every 20 Texas adults is under some form of criminal justice control,

one out of 3 young black men (29% of the black male population between 21 and

29) are in prison, jail, parole or probation on any given day.

• One out of every four adult black men in Texas is under some form of criminal

justice supervision.

• Blacks in Texas are incarcerated at a rate seven times greater than whites." https://justicepolicy.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/texas_tough.pdf

"Paxton sent to Texas Rangers to raid the houses of 13 Latino Democrats in Bexar, Frio and Atascosa counties, based on some secondhand hunch"

SOP for the New GOP, Right wingnuts and WORMs (White Old RINO Men); to them there is no difference between first-hand knowledge or experience and secondhand bovine scat. Allow me to enter into evidence Reps Comer, Johnson and Smith, Sens Grassley and Tuberville, among a multitude of others. [NB: this only applies to anything that could damage a Dem, if it can be used against one of their fellow tribe-members -- RINOs and PseudoCons only, TradRepubs and real conservatives need not apply -- it must be buried so deep that it will never be seen again.]

"more than 390 cases against accused election fraudsters"

And still to date my favorite fraudster is the man in the Free State of Florida who filled in and submitted a ballot for his father -- casting it for the Amber Ardipithecus ramidus -- who passed away prior to election day, because that's what dad would have wanted. He was found guilty of both forgery and fraud, the envelope was dated prior the the death but postmarked after, and the father's signature resembled the son's and wasn't close to the signature on file with voter registration.

-----

"they won’t let him overturn the 2020 election or prosecute this fraud that does too exist"

The evidence of which is in a safe storage facility right next to the evidence collected by the Mango Malignancy of Dem electoral fraud -- to be released when the time is right.

-----

"just what it takes to win the talent competition of the Trump beauty pageant, even while he’s lacking in charm"

Is there anyone circling the Goldenrod Grotesqueness' weak flame that has any charm?

The “in jail” reference only applies to people who have been arrested and are in jail awaiting trial (because they couldn’t get or post bond). If in jail or prison AFTER conviction, they can’t vote.

So if you’re going to get arrested, make sure you do it sufficiently in advance of the election so you can request a mail-in ballot!

Thank you for your reply. I was unaware of the TX laws since I don't reside in TX and I appreciate the clarification (no sarc here).

No problem! I am both a lawyer and I live in Texas, so I can understand how the “in jail” reference, without further explanation, would be confusing.

The restrictions on mail-in voting here are ridiculous, because unless you’re clearly 65 or older, I don’t see how you can rely on your vote being counted unless you vote in person. For example, if you are arrested and thrown in jail a few weeks before the election, I don’t understand how you have time to request a mail-in ballot in time to vote before Election Day.

I always use the in-person early voting system, which can still be a pain. Voter suppression is very much alive and well in Texas.

I'm sure Paxton is seeking some way to interfere in this trial. If interfering will benefit him personally, that is.

But is Paxton "Central Casting"? I imagine Trump getting hung up on that long enough for Stephen Miller to install Matt Kacszmaryk as AG. Or James Ho. All so "talented," with Aileen Cannon on the shortlist.

OK, if Paxton is getting his panties in a twist about sending out voter registration forms what about sending out letters to all households in the county reminding them to check their eligibility to vote and make sure they're registered. They could include instructions for how to do this, and a list of reasons a person may not be eligible to vote.

Then it could be argued that they're not registering illegal voters, merely making sure people know to double check whether or not they are eligible to vote. They could actually argue they're helping to prevent vote fraud.
