This story supported by a grant from the Patty Dumpling Endowed Chair for Oil Spills, Fracking, and Astroturfing. As we all know, there's nothing more sacred to small-government conservatives than the idea of local control. It's why Common Core is evil, and so is anything else that's done at a national level. States rights! Let people vote for themselves whether the gheys in their cities or states can get married or blacks can vote! If you take the principle far enough you get the sovereign citizens, those great patriots who love the American ideal of freedom so much that they pretend they don't have to recognize the United States at all. It's all about local sovereignty, except

I seem to recall a certain political party complaining for 12 years about radical minorities using activist judges trying to overrule democratic votes. So the hue and cry for a small, elite group using activist judges to cram down the radical Big Oil Agenda begins when?
"“It’s my job to give permits," said the One Star State's oil and gas "regulator". That's what she does when she's not busy "aggressively promoting the Texas energy industry" as "a strong advocate for oil and gas interests."
And best of all, in Texas, an oil and gas regulator "defends the energy industry" from federal environmental regulations.
What's interesting is the reporters at Dallas Morning News missed the fact that Denton already has permits for 200 operating well sites and its own Oil & Gas Inspector with a fairly extensive permitting process. Even with the process in place the citizens said they don't want it. We in Texas are seeing more and more actions where the Legislature and State Agencies want more control but lack both the resources and acumen to step up to the plate even though by our own Constitution each city has the ultimate control.
Anyone know how West, Texas - or what's left of it - voted this time around? Because that's going to tell you just how fucking stupid Texans can be..

When we want your local authority, we'll give it to you.
“We missed as far as an education process..." This explains Texas.
Silly citizens with your cute "voting."

All without irony, which died in Texas long ago.

The ones where Jeebus tells the faithful "go forth and frack" are in press as we speak.
Mostly water. Watsamatter with that?
Texas education has nothing to do with real life, as Denton is likely to find out.
