The four year old died.

Four fucking years old.

Is this not a war crime? Or does that only apply to other countries?

Menotsure's avatar

Apparently yes, and yes

Biblioteca80's avatar

I mean, seriously, Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador... should be calling up the International Court of Justice.

OMFG I literally feel sick. Where is an fucking rwnj so I can throw up all over them THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS. I just can't with this shit that gives me fucking nightmares.

I am not a doctor, so perhaps there's some sort of medical professional who can clear up my confusion:

Do the kids who got pushed into the river have MORE, LESS, or THE SAME AMOUNT OF "cardiac activity" as the six-week embryos that the lawmakers in Texas are so keen to protect?

SunMoonStars's avatar

I'm certain if they were wealthy people this would be making headlines across the globe. Fuck this shit....really just fuck it all.

Shanna Riley's avatar

Moot question. These kids have brown skin so their amount, or lack, of cardiac activity is irrelevant.

JCfromNC's avatar

The embryos have good 'Murrican proto-hearts whereas these unlegals have filthy foreign hearts, so there's your answer.

Now I'm just waiting on a Republican politician to be caught on a hot mike talking about a "final solution" to immigrants.

JustPixelz's avatar

More. Because the “cardiac activity” supposedly in embryos is electrical impulses, not a heartbeat, and not part of circulatory system.

It's not for lack of Abbott's efforts, the bastard.

Nah, no need to pollute my mind with total bullshit

What a hideous Nazi freak. And Texas rejected Pete for this guy.

Tina Mouse's avatar

Yes I did. I like them both, sorry.

When I lived in the Southwest in the early 1970s, people went back and forth like the border didn't even exist. Nixon's, the radical leftist, open border!

Something something the cruelty is the point something.

In Greg Abbott's world, a family of drowned migrants is a family not taking jobs away from American families.

RRJKR's avatar

If you are in danger of losing your job to Mexican migrants, you need to work on your marketable skills

In Greg Abbot’s world, these aren’t even people, really.

motocat's avatar

Abbott is the most vicious man in the US, and that's really saying something.

Reading about 18 U.S.C. § 242 and trying to figure out if all this could get Abbot charged with conspiracy to violate civil rights by using law enforcement as a weapon.

A reminder that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah was not about gay buttsechs but about how they abused refugees.

Texas is the new Sodom and Gomorrah.

Where's another oak tree. Hmm...sorry to soon

Horrible

Lady Tavestock's avatar

Most people, when they become paralyzed from a tree falling on them, become kinder and more grateful because they understand the struggle and sense of despair. Not Abott. Dude, karma is a bitch and the rebound is much worse.

JCfromNC's avatar

I say we roll his wheelchair into the river on the Mexican side, and then yell at him to go back where he came from.

Wookiee Monster's avatar

Odds are he was a complete asshole before that tree fell on him.

RRJKR's avatar

Maybe why the tree decided to fall on him

Manic Pixel Dream Girl's avatar

I know, right? Such a life-altering event should temper someone with some there but for the grace of G-d self-reflection and empathy. Instead he seems to have taken it as an opportunity to live another day to make vulnerable people’s lives worse. I would say his paralyzing accident made him a worse person but if it didn’t, I shudder to think what he was like BEFORE.

And right wingers say that it is unfair to compare these bastards to Nazis. They are absolutely the same. They would gleefully commit genocide if they could get way with it.

Tessie's avatar

"Blah blah it's such a COMPLETELY UNFAIR comparison! The barbed wire in OUR concentration camps is one-sixteenth of an inch thicker than the ones in Germany!"

RRJKR's avatar

True fact. German Nazis visiting with American Eugenicists in the 1920s felt that the racism practiced in the USA was a bit too extreme

OTOH, someone from South Africa told a classmate, re: POC, "You Americans have yours trained well." That was the 70s. Today's POC: "Here. Have a chair."
