Really? I was qualified on B-61 and B-57 nuclear weapons when I sat alert in England in the '80s in F-111s. Maybe you would like to tell me something about them that I don't know?

Yeah, me, too, and I live in Houston. When we moved here Anne Richards was governor and Molly Ivins wrote for the Houston Chronicle. My husband and I were both engineers at the Johnson Space Center. We're retired, old, and all my friends, family, and volunteering are here. I hate what the sick bastards are doing but I don't want to move.

Pharmacy Collaborators

The nation’s largest pharmacy chains have handed over Americans’ prescription records to police and government investigators without a warrant, a congressional investigation found, raising concerns about threats to medical privacy.

Though some of the chains require their lawyers to review law enforcement requests, three of the largest — CVS Health, Kroger and Rite Aid, with a combined 60,000 locations nationwide — said they allow pharmacy staff members to hand over customers’ medical records in the store.

The policy was revealed in a letter sent late Monday to Xavier Becerra, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.).

Intending to start a friendly discussion to lighten the mood:

Cricket > Baseball

Sitting in a swanky hotel bar in Hyderabad, free drinks and appetizers 6-8 pm.

All they play on the tee vee is Cricket highlights. I'm starting to love cricket as much as India.

After almost 2 weeks of this, I'm getting used to it. Great way to unwind after a day out and about all over town.

Being a poor kid from Detroit, I did some crazy stuff, not knowing that "normal" people wouldn't do that.

I said that before saying: "When I went to the University of London for a semester..." it wouldn't seem like some sort of brag. It was just a crazy idea that was funded by Pell grants and student loans because... I found out that I could.

So, there I was, U of L, Bedford College. Just off Bond Street, not far from the Lord's Cricket Grounds, a very short walk to the Abbey Road Studio. London West 1 in the mid 80's.

On the weekends, going to see the countryside, I would stop to watch the local teams play cricket. It was played as a shorter game, as no one has the time to play like the pros (for test matches that last for days).

Cricket really is a great sport to watch, and surprising it never really "stuck" in America. The closest we get from that sport is "pickle" or "monkey in the middle" (called that depending on where you live) which is weird that something so cool could result in something potentially so taunting.

It's been a great ride...

Budapest just after the fall of the Iron Curtain; skiing in Chile; Bogota during the FARC uprising; panda watching in China; climbing well inside the pyramid in Chichén Itzá; living on the beach in Rio, flying to the other side of the world (Dubai) and back in a weekend for a miles run.... crazy stuff, just because: Why not! No, I'm not a CIA agent... but I have found myself in some pretty questionable places. And yes, I know where my towel is at.

The Disney Adventurer's Club creed really resonates:

.

The Adventurers Club Creed

.

We climb the highest mountains,

just to get a better view.

We swim the deepest oceans,

'cause we're daring through and through.

We cross the scorching desert,

martinis in our hand.

We ski the polar ice caps,

in tuxedos looking grand.

We are reckless, brave, and loyal, and valiant to the end.

If you come in here a stranger, you will exit as a friend.

.

Sounds a lot like Wonkette... when you think about it.

OMG Rudy, please go on the stand and repeat under oath all the lies you already admitted to, and try and clear you name.

Can he be fined double for doing it again under oath?

JFC. $100M judgement, please.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/dec/12/rudy-giuliani-election-workers-trial

"Giuliani has already conceded he made false statements about Freeman and Moss and been found liable for defamation per se, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and civil conspiracy. But in a brief statement to reporters after court on Monday evening, he suggested he planned to prove everything he had said about them was true during the trial.

“When I testify, you’ll get the whole story and it will be definitively clear what I said was true and that whatever happened to them, which was unfortunate if other people overreacted, but everything I said about them is true,” he said. Asked if he regretted what he said, Giuliani said: “Of course I don’t regret it, I told the truth.”

Yesterday I fasted for a blood draw. I have a one hour window, and must be done by 9. Lab office opens at 8.

I go out, car has ice and snow. That should have been a clue. Scrape it off, I drive to the office and wait in the car for ten minutes (motor off).

I finally get in, and they tell me the phlebotomist won't be in until 9:15 because. of. the. snow.

Now I'm fasting again. 2 more hours.
