So here's a twist on the Josh Duggar Saga of Shame and Grossness that's just become clear: Back in 2006, when the Arkansas Department of Human Services was contacted by an anonymous tipster and the family was interviewed by law enforcement, it would have been possible to prosecute young Josh for the offenses that he'd allegedly committed against his sisters in 2002, because Arkansas has an extended statute of limitations on sex crimes against minors. There's just one catch: that extended statute of limitations only applies in cases where the abuse has never been reported to law enforcement. And as we all know far more than we wish we did, the Duggar family did report the alleged abuse to a member of the Arkansas law enforcement community in 2003, a year after it occurred. Conveniently enough, they reported it to a good personal friend, Corporal Joseph T. Hutchens of the Arkansas State Police, the guy who gave young Josh a "stern talking-to" -- and apparently
... I consulted The Google to find out how much it cost to feed the Dugger brood and was rewarded (?) with this... http://www.duggarfamilyblog... - so yeah, that exists and the creep factor just got cranked to 11.
It is incumbent on us, Dear Readers of Wonkette, to find a link to the "missing" police report, and put it up on each of our personal corners of the Facebooks.
Well, I'm not sure if there is more than one report (I think there probably is) but here is a "offense report" from Springdale PD I found online for a 2006 incident. The date on the actual report is listed as 2015 though so I don't know if that is the date this report was printed out or when the report was filed.
Looks like the release date is 2015. The date of the offense report is 2006. InTouch posted it online. Whoever is able to back it up digitally (Wonkette) might want to do that before it disappears.
I get it, I do. I've just come to see it as a small part of an overall combo of things that result in us actually getting cut off from resources. Like I said, I used to make the same kinds of jokes, and I don't think people are necessarily awful for making them. I just increasingly find it important to point it out. Because some people are totally serious about it, and I think they are more like tea partiers than progressives. It's the same I got mine, fuck all you guys attitude. With the decade we've had here in Texas, it just isn't funny to me anymore. I think we can find some gallows humor to relieve tension and I'm all for that. I feel obligated lately to provide a counterpoint.
Yeah, me too. It's not the worst joke in the world, it's just one that's become a bit personal for me as a red state progressive surrounded by red state progressives fighting our ASSES off just to hold the line. It feels like people who are supposed to be on my side kicking us while we're down. That's an overreaction, but I can't find another way to explain it.
This Pope (Carole) sums it up... https://www.youtube.com/wat...
... well, apart from getting his hand stuck in the honeypot... (which is NOT a euphemism for what Josh Diddler was doing)...

Hey kids! It's time to play "Can you spot the Pedophile?!"
Thanks. It runs deep this pedo thing. Judges, lawyers, legislators, cops. Where do they seek refuge? The GOP. Nuff said.

Thank you.
