MSNBC is reporting that Kilmar Abrego-Garcia's trial in January has been 'cancelled'.
Something, something, about a gag order, but DHS (and maybe Vance?) mouthing off about the case and now the judge is gonna' hear a defense motion to dismiss for vindictive prosecution instead?
Fun random fact: I once bought a cheapo off brand bass on the used marketplace just to thicken a mix. A bass line in tab for Seven Nation Army was tucked inside.
... yeah it’s not actually done on a bass when the Stripes did it live. White’s guitar run into an octave pedal. Also that bass I bought cheap died kinda shamefully horribly when I left it in an upstairs closet too long without checking on it and the neck turned into a corkscrew and I now have a rather better but also still pretty simple six string Ibanez (I’m not really a bassist tho much respect for the instrument and players and will always love Mingus) for that purpose. Anyway. Still a respectable way to learn seems to me if that was what was happening.
A man in Oklahoma is facing a manslaughter charge after he allegedly shot a woman several blocks from his home while firing a gun he got himself for Christmas at an energy drink can in his back yard.
As told in court documents reviewed by NBC News, the death of Sandra Phelps at the hands of Cody Wayne Adams illustrates how deadly the consequences can be when those engaging in the US’s prevalent gun culture do so unsafely. Adams’s back yard was not equipped to stop bullets from leaving the property and striking unsuspecting people in the surrounding area, according to authorities.
Phelps was sitting under a covered porch with family on Christmas and holding a child in her arms when they heard gunshots north of the house, said an affidavit laying out the circumstances of Adams’s arrest.
“Sandra commented that someone got a new gun for Christmas and then shortly after Sandra said ‘ouch’ and collapsed,” the affidavit said. It said there were no more gunshots after that.
It's fucking embarrassing. It never stops being fucking embarrassing, but this is just so plainly Russian propaganda being parroted openly by an American president that it hits another level of fucking embarrassing.
OK, Wonks, I've got to share this. I was trying to find info on emergency/"go bags", in case there's an emergency and the cat and I have to leave the house. Both of my sisters have had their houses burn down, so an emergency bag seems like a good idea.
Now, I live in a first ring suburb, so my idea of an emergency situation is a house fire, a semi losing a load of toxic chemicals near me, or Prairie Island nuke plant having an oopsie. I'd be evacuating us to a hotel, or worse case, a friend's house for a few days. I was looking for suggestions like bring a sleep mask and ear plugs, that sort of thing.
However, outside of the government info, everything on the internet is end of the world, zombie apocalypse, loonie tunes survivalists! Suggestions include packing a crowbar, lock picking kit, and weapons, weapons, weapons. The mindset involved is nuts! One, I swear to Bast, included the helpful phrase "and don't forget your body armour"! These are scary people!
I sincerely doubt that I will need to camp out in the wild, break into buildings, or shoot my way out of a marauding horde. I'm looking for what I should include to make my stay away from home more comfortable, not end of the world as we know it scenarios. If I need to camp out, I will use my camping equipment, but I don't think it is what I need to pack out of the house in an emergency.
Funny thing, cat emergency kit info is much more realistic, not one suggested that I train my kitty to stalk zombies. She Who Must Be Catered To will have a good bag in case we have to bail, complete with catnip and a collapsible toy on a stick, but I think I may have to think up my own "nice to have" supplies.
It blows my mind that these people have taken over the internet.
I realize I complain a lot about 'celebrities' selling out to get PAID . . .
. . . but will someone please PAY Tom Brady NOT to do 'color' (or in his case, 8 bit, badly dithered, grayscale) commentary . . . 😃. He is just so bad at it.
