Remember when conservatives actually tried to come up with conservative solutions to solve problems? Way too much work, compared to just being an asshole and doing the Nelson Muntz ha-ha.

No, I don't. They've been this way since my childhood. (Edited to add: that was during the Reagan administration.)

Shouldn't be *that* much of a surprise? I don't love all of the guy's philosophies or politics, obviously, but Obamacare was literally just Romneycare but federal, from back when it wasn't *necessary* to be a bugfuck crazy person with a desire to kill as many of your constituents as possible, in order to be a Republican.

Mittens Fotescue Heirnomous Romney III is one of those Republicans that really outrages me because with his few feeble attempts at doing good it is obvious he knows better than most of his compatriots but only sticks his neck out when convenient.

It's nice that he had a plan. And maybe Biden should have looked harder at it, but he probably didn't know at the time that Manchinema were going to blind side him at every turn. But really? Mittens expected that other Republicans to believe less child poverty is a good use of government dollars. That hasn't been true since Reagan at least.

“ This is where we also point out that not a single member of the “pro-baby party,” including Romney, voted for the American Rescue Plan.“

What moderate Republicans? They’re all hateful, even the reasonable ones. Greedy, hateful- and didn’t Romney have dinner with Trump after he got elected to try and get in in the grift? Fuck that guy. It’s stuff like this that makes me question why so many Democrats say we need a strong Republican Party as a counterweight. We have a Chaotic Evil and weak one now. Imagine how fucked things would be if we had a strong one!

Breaking news - Hunter Biden federally indicted on charges of checking the “I have read the terms and conditions” box without actually reading the terms and conditions. Faces 20 years in federal prison.

Giving money on a per child basis helps Utah the most as it has the highest number of children per household. I guess every sperm is sacred or something. Don't get me wrong, I think the money is a good idea.

Fox: Hunter Biden indicted on federal gun charges [https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hunter-biden-indicted-on-federal-gun-charge]

Making false statement on the purchase form and consequently possessing the gun unlawfully.

My guess is this is a gun law Republicans suddenly love.

OT, but I need to believe in humanity again: one of my employees specifically asked if she could do her lab meeting presentation on diversity and inclusion in the sciences. I normally have to pull teeth to get people to talk about anything but *exactly* what they're working on, but she wants to do a month of interviews and pull together responses into a broad presentation covering age, race, gender, and education. HR's going to kill me for letting her do this, but fuck that - I'm just proud that she cares and wants to make others care too.
