The Axis of Swift Boat Veterans
So the exchange that's made the biggest splash out of last night's Hardball was Chris Matthews browbeating Michelle "Let's call them 'Internment Spas'" Malkin into admitting how insane it is to accuse John Kerry of shooting himself for his Purple Heart. The only way to have made that catfight more entertaining was to put them in a vat of Jell-O. But let's not overlook the real news from that interview, which was Malkin's assertion that negative campaigning is, in fact, a form of terrorism:
[Kerry] hasn't been subjected to this kind of heat. And . . . if he can't stand the heat from his fellow veterans, do we really want to trust him to stand up to Islamic extremists?
Right. That's why Bush has ordered a preemptive invasion of Michael Moore. Or maybe terrorism is a form of attack ad. You know, "I'm Osama bin Laden, and I approved this message." Just don't let them get their hands on a Flash animation program. . .
