Ta, Dok. 1960 was a bad year for me. I nearly died from measles, followed immediately by Reye's syndrome. Fortunately, my late mother (whose memory will always be both a blessing and a curse) was a nursing aide during WWII, when most of the RNs were overseas. She knew what a slush bath was (so do you, if you've seen Jacob's Ladder), and saved my young life. I contracted chickenpox right after that. All this was before MMR, of course. Mumps waited until the next year. So, what's the good news? I didn't remember having chickenpox (I remember Younger Sister's rash), so I asked my PCP to check my titers. Any number over 649 means one is immune, from both chickenpox and shingles. My number was 1,111. Unlike many of my contemporaries, I don't need Shingrix. I do need a COVID booster next month, and will get a flu shot at the same time. No video for me, thanks. Btw, I missed so much school that if I hadn't already been reading, I would have been left back and had to repeat first grade. As things were, I spent 10 years in the NJ public school system, waiting for the idiots to get through Dick and Jane. Small mercies.
I had my flu and covid shot for 2025-26 yesterday because I am afraid that the ACIP meeting will cut them off. In Georgia, you're supposed to have a prescription from your doctor, but CVS is giving it to anyone who wants the vax.
I think that I'm all caught up. We've had enough measles floating around that I had my PCP check me for that. I am okay. I got a tetanus update last month when my cat bit me. I had chicken pox but I went ahead and got Shingrix a few years ago. Fingers are crossed.
Weird how just a few months ago, these same republicans were all singing praise for Monarez as they voted to confirm her.
Of course, Brain Worm’s demand that she pre-approve whatever bullshit recommendations he puts forward without reviewing them first is ridiculous. Why even have experts when a rubber stamp will do the same job you want?
They will both have to edge out Ron Johnson, who is no mean competitor.
I honestly don't think people spend enough time recognizing what a poisonous, lying asshole Markwayne Mullin (R-FuckingMoron) is.
Gah, how you manage to sit still and watch this debacle is beyond me. Thank you.
Markwayne Mullin is such an embarrassment to the State of Oklahoma.

No one named "MarkWayne" can possibly be taken seriously, ever.
Who wants to live anymore anyway, without any Late Night comedy shows?
Two guards are standing before two doors.
One leads to your goal the other to a painful death.
The first guard says "one of us speaks only truth".
The second guard says "one of us speaks only lies"...
If Markwayne was my kid, I'd make him publicly apologize to her and the committee for lying. Of course, I wouldn't have named him Markwayne...
I can’t see that anything was accomplished by “hearing”. Waste of time and resources.
If we do not call it out, bring it into the open, hold them to account, then we do nothing at all.
Not a winning strategy either.
Besides which, it was a Republican who called for it. Cassidy.
i'm not advocating doing nothing. I'm saying what we are doing is not even remotely up to the task at hand.
It’s to put the Republican grandstanding on record.
And where has that led? Nowhere. That’s last century strategy.
No one has to try to embarrass the president, he is perfectly capable of doing that on his own.
I'm surprised that Markwayne Mullin didn't jump up from his seat and threatened to fight Dr. Monarez after the hearing.
deep down he knows any woman would kick his ass - they have more experience wearing heels than he does.
I might go back and watch the entire thing just so I can get ~ 3hrs. of Dr. Monarez!

Florida woman here. For the record, Ashley always sounds like that.
Who are you co-conspirators, your lawyers, what are their names, and isn't it in fact true that they are known members of ANTIFA?!
