The District: Red Light District
WT reports that the District plans to double the number of photo-radar cameras and enforce parking and traffic laws even more vigorously, a plan that will raise non-tax revenue by about $47 million. AAA calls it a "shakedown;" the city says it's just concerned about safety, and points to the effectiveness of radar-triggered cameras in slowing down motorists.
Welcome to the District of Columbia, where we want the lead in your water not in your foot.
