another big problem are these large corporations that pay employees poverty wages who then require government assistance. My quibble is not helping poor people it's billionaire owners profiting while we subsidize their employees.

They do both things on purpose. Screw over small businesses with little recourse and savage individuals because that's their mandate as they have been severely discouraged from going after the big cheats because they won't hire people who have the skill set to understand complex returns.
