The Democratic Party abandoned labor law reform during the Carter Administration - they've had plenty of chances to give us that (Clinton's first term, Obama's first term, the first half of Biden's term) and they never delivered
We've fallen from 24% union density under Carter to an anemic 6% today - continuing to support the Democrats is a path to failure - O'Brien turning his back on the Dems is a good first start
As for the NLRA, it's the worst thing that ever happened to private sector unions - it restricts our freedom of speech, right to protest and right to strike, makes us beg employers and the government for permission to organize and it got America's unions into that cesspool of corruption known as the health insurance industry - repeal the NLRA and let us go back to fighting it out on the picket line

Shawn Fain would have been upset if he found out he did not get to have his selfie taken with 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺. You did the right thing.
Solidarity forever. Those of you who read my posts regularly know that our Union contract, which was OVERDUE by almost a year, was ratified. Last paycheck in December, we got paper checks for back pay, which got deposited same day. I've been on the job for five years and it's time to leave for a better one, which may end my days as a Union maid. I'm looking for something much closer to home; I'm done with five day a week travel to and from The South Bronx. I'll miss some of my clients, and a number of my coworkers, and I'm not leaving until a) I have another job, and b) I use up the rest of my vacation time, since payout is 50%.
I gotta say I never was a union member worker. I was just a worker in the system. I had big bosses, little bosses, corporate bosses, all kind of bosses. I never really got to boss anyone around but I didn't really care, if I asked someone to do something, they did it, or not. None of us were union members, especially in the white collar world. There already was a certain amount of inherent worker rights. That's what the unions created in the beginning and it became the standard if you were union or not. That's why I support all unions, unequivocally!
From what I've seen in the last year, it appears that there are many primates who will vote to fuck themselves over given the right ooga booga thump a few sticks and drums yakkity yak. (Insert standard dumbass right wing nonsense here)
I'm supposed to be impressed by the human race? LMAO - no.
Hey don't forget the New York Times tech guild strike, and in solidarity we didn't do Wordle or NYT Connections puzzles for a week or so. The strike did get the workers enough attention from the owners to force progress in the negotiations.
Shut up, plans change. My mom is taking Ro in an hour for the night and we may engage in mind altering substances and some foolin' around tonight. Or we may go to bed. Undecided.
Union today. Union tomorrow. Union forever.

Holy cow! Dune Part Two is on Netflix! Guess I know what I’m doing tonight.
I bought that from AppleTV last weekend. I bought Part 1 a few weeks ago from Fandango.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!
Change is good. Knowing when to change is better. Having the guts to follow your heart to something better is best. All the love, Z.
Namaste to you Love Birds....
Happy New Year

A rising boat trickles down all tides!
The vote for speaker is Friday. The counting and certification of electoral votes Monday. The crystal ball says:
Popcorn!
I pop mine slowly in an actual covered pan with extra virgin and slab of butter. Salt, lemon pepper and hint of grated Parmesan.
Best get poppin bitches!
Do you use low heat or high heat? I always seem to get that wrong.
Start med high. Starts to pop I turn it down med low and shake.
The popping grasshopper. The popping slows as it almost stops pull it.
Shake a little togarashi powder in there and we're good to go.
Done. Soon as I get to the store.
Thanks, always open.
Oh WhatCulture. Never change.
They did a list of 10 Japanese Horror Movies You Have to See Before You Die.
They put Ju-On at number one. Over both Ringu AND Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Kairo (Pulse).
They put Pulse at NUMBER EFFING NINE.
Just...damn.
"They did a list of 10 Japanese Horror Movies You Have to See Before You Die."
But which ones do you have to see *after* you die?
Godzilla Ate Siskel and Ebert.

Good luck motherfuckers.
I reiterate: scientists taught a chimpanzee to understand the median voter and it hanged itself.
KoKo the gorilla wept.
You'd weep too if you saw what these primitive, hairless apes have done to this slightly moist dirt ball.
I thank God for the union everyday.
Yes. Are you NEA?
UFT, but yeah, under NEA.
Oh...lol, because my brain *meant* UFT, but the fingers had other ideas.

Will we get a post from our Canadian boyfriend? I was saving Burton Cummings's birthday for that, but we're running out of time.
"These Eyes" goes through more key changes in one song than an entire Manilow show.
What day do they celebrate Canadadian New Year's?
We've got a way to go yet, surely?
Legislative Shitmuffin and Badass of the year for two.
oof, Shitmuffin...it's near impossible to choose just one.
Right? I think the Pig Fucker should be in there somewhere. Note I didn't say which one!
Oh, yeah! I completely forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder!
