It isn't relevant to this article, but I think it should be noted that, when Mr. Mackey tries to find the exit to Mar-a-Lago, every room he walks into has a rich old white guy getting a massage from a young "woman."
Dean Cain's last-released movie was "R.A.D.A.R.: The Adventures of the Bionic Dog," where he was the voice of "Mayor." Is "Bionic" even still a word? He's also got quite a list of supporting roles in Hallmark Movies and Direct-to-Dump.Bin faith-based dreck you paw through while waiting for the kid to ring up your twelve-pack of Coors at the local Buck-Ee's.
Back in the day, there was a wonderful SNL skit with Bill Murray as Superman with the premise being an alternative take showing "What would happen if Superman had landed in Nazi Germany."
It was funnier that Dean Cain, but still the same basic plot.
It was during the Michael Palin hosted show on January 27, 1979, but I was wrong, it was Akroyd as Superman, Murray as Mr. Kent, Palin as Hitler, Al Franken as Jimmy Olstein, and Belushi as Jor-El.
I have looked before, but can’t find any traces of the video on line, but here is the script along with stills:
Okay, that makes more sense. I knew it was someone more Hartman-like, but I also remembered it as being during the original cast era. It also makes sense that it was spoofing the movie.
Dammit, wasn't Lois Lane in it? A gloriously Teutonic version of her?
Reeve was a hero and surely would have been horrified to see any link between Superman, fighter for truth, justice and the American Way and ICE. And Tom Welling briefly attended high school down the street from us. A friend of mine went to school with him there. She is a staunch supporter of equal rights, justice and bravely attends rallies to protest Trump. She’s a real hero.
The Volkssturm was a great example of how evil people have no limits to their cruelty. As a drugged-up Hitler took to his bunker to await his inevitable death, he insisted that every German go down with the ship, even children and the elderly. And why? Because the German “way of life” was going to be over anyway and the Allies would destroy their culture and probably allow non-Arian people to live there. So pick up a gun, or a rake, Grandma, and fight for Berlin! Die with pride!
Of course, Germany was not “doing fine,” as Sam Rockwell hilariously parodied in JoJo Rabbit. Later in the film, Rockwell is seen leading the final resistance in Berlin, dressed in flamboyant attire, suggesting his identity was repressed by his own regime, while the elderly and kids are handed out whatever weapons are left.
Of course, Germany still exists today, and many German citizens did survive WWII and lived to see their country rebuilt from the ashes of the Nazi regime.
I’m not sure why an article about ICE recruiting financially desperate people to fight “illegals” made me think of the Volkssturm. Probably just a coincidence.
I always thought he was the only person who played Superman to not be affected by the curse. Guess I was wrong.
Nah, he’s going to be ‘honorary’ . Gets the signing bonus, though?
Am I off base in thinking that this massive ICE budget is just creating a welfare program for racist chuds?
And this is how we employ the unemployed White Nationalists. Wow!

Chump's not gonna like that.
Ta, Evan. I would say they could not sink lower, but they'd accept that as a challenge.
Countdown until The Ricker comes off his ranch and signs up.
So, like, Volkssturm was established when Germany was already on its last leg in WWII. Like, literally half a year before it was all over.
I keep harping on the point that fascism is all about aesthetics, and here we are again.

So, what you're saying is that the $50,000 signing bonus was looking pretty sweet to ol' Dean.
I am ok with calling that dood a microdick.
The Costume Department loved it. Nothing to tuck away.
Not even a techbro-owned "studio" will cast him in a project, eh?
Cain was a shitty Superman....I'm sure he'll live up to that standard as an ICE Gestapo agent too...guess this loser needs a job really bad.

Are you sure? I remember the skit, but I thought it was Phil Hartman, not Bill Murray. I can say that it isn't in YouTube anywhere.

I guess if you have the DVDs, it still exist.

Lois Laneoff…..Laraine Newman
Could be. I know Laraine Newman would be my choice for that part.
So, now student loan forgiveness is...fine, somehow? Will this get challenged in court? I really think some blue state AGs should get on that shit.
