This is it. This is what has me fucking terrified. I haven't a clue how we fix it--yes, eventually demographics will fix it (we think/hope), but what about all the lives ruined in the meantime? And even when demographics fix the makeup of the senate/house, what do we do about the pockets of deplorables scattered around, festering with resentment? In fact, even if we get Trump out, what do we do about the deplorables festering with resentment?

They will never change or see how f'd up they truly are (so many lost years figuring that out). I am sorry he/they felt the need to try and hurt you.
