I plant mint along my alley fence because the rats hate it.

Besides use as a culinary ingredient (e.g. tea, mint juleps, and Mediterranean dishes), its best feature—it’s almost no-maintenance because it grows under 18± inches high and stops. I did not know that rats dislike mint. Thanks for the trick.

I’ll repeat a quote from a geologist co-worker: “Bad data are worse than no data.” He did say “data are.”

[Addendum: ‘data’ is the plural of ‘datum,’ so “data are” is correct.]

Did they try garnishing the lamb with mint jelly?

Yes. The chief reasons I still fear Benedict Donald might still be "re-elected" are Russia, Russia, and, oh yeah, Russia. The Treason Party (fka GOP) has deliberately done nothing to armor our election system against Russian interference.

OTOH, as JGB pointed out, this time Donnie Two Scoops will not have the advantage of running against one of the two chief targets of the most lavishly-funded, well-organized, and insanely dedicated smear campaign since Goebbels & Co. went after (((That Certain Minority))).
