“I think he knows it’s the poor people that got him elected, so I think Trump is going to do more to help us.”

THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!

You should vote for the person who has already said that they are going to do the things that you want them to do for the country! And then they should do those things or else you don't vote for them again.

YOU, Pennsylvania voter in the article, YOU voted for someone who said he wanted to cut taxes on the rich. He did that in his first term and now you want him to do some more of that. Congratulations.

The fucking term “fiscally conservative”…when every study has shown that providing MORE social support to people improves the economy. But not only for the rich fuckwads, which is of course the point.

They are not fiscally responsible. They call themselves that, I know, but I sure wish the press would quit accepting such a bald faced lie as a fact.

There is nothing fiscally responsible about taking money from the poor to give to the rich. What they are, is feudalists.

"Feudalists" is a very good point. Financial Feudalism. Yup. Next step is financial serfdom.

Maybe the question isn't why those people believe Trump, but why they don't believe the Dems.

Because Republicans own just about every message outlet that exists, and the few that they do not are busy castigating Democrats for Not Having Snappier Messages.

Pretty much.

Because Dems aren't talking about mass deportation of brown people. They would really rather risk losing their benefits, which they don't think they will, and enjoy watching brown people get hurt. It's just hard to articulate that without sounding like an asshole.

"There was no real conflict between wanting to force people to have children and not giving a flying fuck about children once they are born, because the former was still but a dream."

The New GOP claims to be the Party of Life, but only on their terms. The pre-born *must* be defended against callous women who don't give a flying fuck about the tiny human growing inside them. The heinous acts of these women flies in the face of G-d's laws on the sanctity of *all* lives.

Of course, there are exceptions:

* Immigrants don't count, they should have remained in their home countries eking out a barely sustainable life rather than become a burden on the US' welfare system;

* POCs don't count because they are, by definition, untermenschen;

* Jews don't count for the same reason as POCs;

* Women don't count if they might die due to their pregnancy -- what happens to them is G-d's will and who are we to question Him? Besides, a woman's place is in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant, unless running essential errands like grocery shopping or servicing her man whenever, wherever, and however;

* The preborn won't count once they are born if their families rely on government assistance in order to live, thrive, and survive.

-----

“In general, these states that restrict abortion are the more fiscally conservative, the more socially conservative states[]”

These states are not conservative, they are in retrograde.

* They are only fiscally conservative when it comes to funding projects that will be of benefit for everyone or those demographics they don't like (see above exceptions) in their respective states. The RINOs have no problems wasting money trying to influence voters in other states, squandering state funds to run interference for the Fulvous Flatulence, or 110% funding for MAGA-friendly legislation;

* They are not socially conservative, but rather reactionary, with a strong desire to return to the time of the Antebellum:

"Conservatives generally reject suggestions that their opposition to civil rights legislation is motivated by racism. Instead they maintain that this opposition is strictly driven by a principled consideration of fairness, equity, and the goal of establishing a truly color-blind society" [NB: this quote is from 1996!] https://scholar.harvard.edu/files/bobo/files/1996_racism_conservatism_affirmative_action_and_journal_of_personality_and_social_psychology.pdf (Be sure to pick up your copy of the book on how to build and ignite a giant cross to protest discrimination against White people before it sells out.)

-and-

"This is exemplified by their opposition to abortion, opposition to feminism, support for traditional family values, opposition to pornography, support for abstinence-only sex education, opposition to LGBT rights, support for school prayer, support for school vouchers, support for Sunday blue laws" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_conservatism_in_the_United_States

"Nonprofit leaders fear their job may get harder with a new administration in Washington and a GOP-controlled Congress. Republicans could seek significant changes to federal assistance programs they’ve long criticized, like Medicaid and food stamps."

*Fear" their future under Mooseballs Mussolini and a RINO controlled Congress? It's more likely a given (IMO) that these "entitlements" will be drastically slashed, along with a whole lot more -- if not all -- of the social safety nets currently in place.

-----

"Tillia said he’s confident that Trump and GOP leaders will reduce spending by “cutting the fat” out of government — and not slashing benefits.

“It’s not cutting government programs, it’s cutting the amount of people needed to run a program,” he said. “They are cutting staff, which could actually increase the amount of the programs that we get.”"

Mr Tillia is a stereotypical gaslighted MAGAdroid. Once Elmo the Man-child, Ramaswamy, and their DOGE are done the (bloated) bureaucracy *and* the federal programs he depends on will be gone in their entirety.

-----

"It is also still entirely likely that Trump and a Republican Congress will follow the Project 2025 playbook and use the Comstock laws to bar the shipping of abortion pills or any equipment related to performing abortions through the mail"

* The Amber Ardipithecus ramidus has rejected Project 2025 in favor his own Agenda47: which is the same as Project 2025 but with some of its sharpest edges slightly rounded off;

* If the RINO asshats try to enforce the Comstock laws, then expect not just civil disobedience but riots on the streets. The Comstock laws will be the Fort Sumter of the Second Civil War.

As I've said before, I hold no truck for self-avowed Marxists but Angela Davis has supplied the mantra for a normie revolt against MAGA:

"I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept."

Also too, more newborn babies discarded in Dumpsters. See: Texas. A state so "pro-life" it won't even spend the pittance to advertise its Safe Haven program; a state with abysmal maternal health outcomes (because "pro-life"); and a state with rising out of wedlock/teenage pregnancies (because...well, you know).

Do those discarded Dumpster babies have a chance? Texas couldn't give a rat's ass.

What's the point of cutting taxes for the rich? Do they even pay taxes any more? At this point, their tax burden is down in the noise level, like coin change at coffee.
