The Week In Garbage Men: 'Kill The Gays' Pastor Says Teen Gymnasts Too Sexy For Red-Blooded Men To Resist

Kevin Swanson, the evangelical pastor best known for helping to craft Uganda's policy of putting people to death for being gay, had some things to say about Larry Nassar on his show this week.

According to Swanson, those gymnast girls were not molested by Larry Nassar because he is a monster, but because gymnastics "encourages immodesty" and Nassar is just a red-blooded American male who could not help himself.

“There is an infatuation with the body,” he said, “and, of course, the sexual aspects of the body as well. Some sports encourage immodesty, revealing large portions of the body and this happens in some sports. These are the risky sports. Here they are, what are the risky sports? Gymnastics. Gymnastics and swimming. These are the sports in which there is an added risk.”

“Why are all of the gymnasts [at] more of a risk than other sports?” Swanson asked. “Do you really want your daughters involved in a sport that involves a fair amount of immodesty in whichred-blooded American male coachesare interacting with these girls? Or, worse yet, where the infatuation of the body eventually effects the lesbian coaches?”

Sports are a "risk" because they are a thing that children and teenagers do. Just like how being an altar boy or girl is a thing that children and teenagers do. If you happen to be the kind of person that wants to molest children or teenagers, you're going to go to where they are doing stuff. If you are not the kind of person who wants to molest children or teenagers, you can be around all the gymnasts or altar boys you want and -- regardless of how "red-blooded" you are -- not molest them.

Larry Nassar was a doctor. Doctors see naked adults, teenagers and children all the time. The vast, vast, vast majority of them do not rape or molest anyone in the course of their duties. He was not overcome with lust after seeing a balance beam routine, he was a fucking predator.

Also this week, the moment we have all long been waiting for finally happened -- Steve Bannon weighed in on #MeToo in an interview with Bloomberg News. And you know what? He wasn't entirely wrong!

The Time’s Up movement against sexual abuse and harassment now has Bannon’s full attention, too. “The top seven stories today are all guys getting blown up,” he says. “And these are not small guys.” He’s a connoisseur of anger, and in women’s anger about sexual harassment he senses a prelude to their anger about a lot more. “I think it’s going to unfold like the Tea Party, only bigger,” he says. “It’s not Me Too. It’s not just sexual harassment. It’s an anti-patriarchy movement. Time’s up on 10,000 years of recorded history. This is coming. This is real.”

One of Bannon’s acolytes finally locates CNN. “It’s been a rocky year for a lot of the members of the cabinet,” Wolf Blitzer is saying.

“There we go,” Bannon says. “Hate TV.”

Now Melania Trump enters the House chamber, and finds her seat. “She’s wearing suffragette white,” Bannon says. “Suck on that.”

"Time’s up on 10,000 years of recorded history?" -- you bet your ass it is. Now, surely Bannon sees this as a threat. Surely he doesn't see this as a good thing. But I, for one, welcome the overthrow of the patriarchy, gleefully and with open arms. And yeah, they should be afraid.
