I can totally get behind Jimmy and Rosalynn adopting Dolly. Because that would be the greatest.

And for the record, the only person better than Dolly is no one. Because there is no one better than Dolly.

I only wish that man was not such an effective cavalry officer. Then I would have exactly nothing to admire him for.

Not my intention, but hey. Kid reads 4 grade levels higher than her actual age group, and is determined to become a scientist. Anything I can do to further her goals, I will.

Dunno, but people complained so much it was replaced with a statue that actually looks like Lucy, and the guy who made "Scary Lucy" has sworn off sculpting forever.

Because while my head says “We need a centrist to win this,” my heart says “We need to shake this shit up or we’ll never make substantive changes which really improve people’s lives.”

I would kindly request that you look to our friends in Britain. Because completely discounting Corbyn’s obvious anti-Semitism (which is admittedly a HUGE factor, at least for my utter despising the man), that is what we can expect here.

Corbyn was loathed by too many people; in my opinion he personally lost the election for Labour. Our US “extremists” (basically Warren and Sanders) are not disliked, mainly people aren’t sure if they are taking things too far so are wary. Big difference, to the people who vote with their gut not their head. I believe no matter who the Dem nominee, when push comes to shove if one of them is up there is no Democrat who will vote for Dotard over either of them.

They're the proverbial "more innocent time." I've even heard the 1970s referred to that way; and as I recall much of it was about as innocent as Ned's Nudie Bar.

A "more innocent time" can be fairly defined as the first decade when the speaker was old enough to notice anything.

Next time you hear someone bemoaning the invention of air conditioning because 'people don't sit on their front porches in the summer anymore', try asking the speaker why he/she has central heat. Oh, those were the days when everybody gathered around the hearth.......
